* JerksAreWorseThanVillains: The villains of this anime are the Apocalypse aliens humanity is fighting against. But Continental is so vile in his depravity that Jonathan considers him ''worse'' than the aliens, as the Apocalypse "doesn't rob them of their dignity".

* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: This OVA has quite an epic orchestra soundtrack composed by Masamichi Amano.

* HarsherInHindsight: In 2019, there was a [[https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/09/10/us/men-military-sexual-assault.html news article]] about how over 100,000 have been sexually assaulted and raped in the military in recent decades, which makes the scenes involving Continental raping his own subordinates and Jonathan even more difficult to watch than they already were before.
