* CriticalBacklash: The series is still very polarizing and many of the decisions are still utterly reviled by the fanbase, as shown by IdiotPlot and FanonDiscontinuity. However, in the wake of the Sequel Trilogy's handling of similar plot points, many fans have come around to Jacen's fall to the Dark Side and consider it to have been better handled than Kylo Ren's, usually citing a IDidWhatIHadToDo stronger motivation and that at least Darth Caedus was the ultimate BigBad of the story instead of just being TheHeavy the entire time like Kylo Ren was.

Okay so the person who removed it, I'm changing it to Critical Backlash, but I'm going to point out that I actually have gone and seen several forums and groups talking about their love for this series. Saying it's still based on Twitter isn't enough to say this doesn't have it's fans. And the entry never said that the series was popular, but that elements of it were.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: There are a couple of hints in the series that Lumiya doesn't hate Luke any more, and just views him as a professional rival, so to speak. Other signs indicate that she genuinely does loathe him, and is just good at hiding it from Jacen, who isn't as powerful and skilled as he thinks he is (and Luke himself in Exile).

* MoralEventHorizon: spoiler:Jacen's transition into a Sith Lord is complete after he kills his Mara Jade Skywalker, his aunt. Despite killing his wife on accident, even Darth Vader never wanted his family dead, nor was he ever willing to kill them.

* IdiotPlot: The heroes should have been able to catch on to and short circuit the villain's plot relatively quickly. It can also apply to Jacen himself, for thinking that listening to Lumiya in the first place was a good idea. He also thinks that he'll avoid the problems Vader faced, even though he falls prey to exactly the same problems.

Irrelevent to Narm which is how it's unintentionally funny in a way that undercuts the intended drama.

* Narm: Jacen's line: "My parents are terrorist scum, and that is why I have turned my back on them." The fact that he actually thinks Han and Leia might be terrorists shows just how twisted he's become by Lumiya.

To quote the trope description “ It only applies when there is no meaningful conflict because everyone is awful and the world sucks, and therefore there are no stakes for the audience. If people enjoy the work despite its tone, this trope does not apply.”

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: With Jacen Solo falling to the Dark Side, several characters becoming meaner and/or dumber, the Karma Houdinis, both sides being evil, the blatant self-centered morality, and the high body count of several likable characters, this trope is a perfectly valid reaction to these books.

Zero Context Example And not Broken Base if the split isn't (roughly) 50-50.

* AlasPoorScrappy: Jacen.
* BrokenBase: Less so than Literature/NewJediOrder as far as reception goes - the majority of Star Wars fans have expressed distaste with the series, while a minority enjoy it.

* HilariousInHindsight: When she "left" Del Rey (rumors are that she was actually let go because of her being difficult to work with, as Troy Denning and Aaron Allston have mentioned), Karen Traviss claimed that if she came back, she'd reboot the universe in order to undo WesternAnimation/TheCloneWars interpretation of the Mandalorians, as if she actually would have had the authority to do so. Several years later, Disney officially rebooted the EU, and The Clone Wars along with its interpretation of the Mandalorians was one of the only things that stayed canon.
