* CompleteMonster: Boss Matsumoto from ''Volume I'' is a sadistic {{Yakuza}} boss and a pedophile. When O-Ren Ishii was around 9-years-old, Matsumoto and his henchmen confronted her father (a Chinese-American soldier stationed in Okinawa), and despite him putting quite the fight, he is ultimately murdered by the mooks, while Matsumoto laughs on a couch. Then Matsumoto gets up, grabs the man's Japanese wife, tosses her on a nearby bed...and uses his own katana to stab her to death, narrowly missing O-Ren, who was hiding under said bed. Then, they set the place on fire and leave, laughing about it. [[TheDogBitesBack He doesn't get scot-free, however]]: an 11-year-old O-Ren poses as a child prostitute in order to kill him, and does so ''awesomely''.

** The Massacre at Two Pines chapel in the movie where Bill and his assassins kill everyone inside the church with firearms certainly hits harder after the Sutherland Springs church shooting in November of 2017.

** Although she didn't get as much development as the other Vipers, Vernita is actually NotSoDifferent than the Bride. [[spoiler: She left the Deadly Vipers for the ''same exact'' reasons as Beatrix; perhaps the only reason she was allowed to leave unharmed was because her child wasn't Bill's. When you consider that her own daughter is around the same age as B.B., Vernita may have also been pregnant when she played her role in the Church Massacre.]] That may explain why the Bride got ticked when Vernita attempted to use being a mother as a reason not to be killed.

** Elle Driver loses every amount of our sympathy when it's revealed that she poisoned Pai Mei to death in retaliation for taking her eye. Even as much of a rotten bastard as Pai Mei was to both Beatrix and Elle, he did ''not'' deserve to go out like that.

* OvershadowedByControversy: In 2018 Uma Thurman revealed that Tarantino forced her to do a car stunt she begged him to give to a stunt driver, which went wrong and led to permanent neck and knee pain, which is the reason she never worked with him again. This was also after Tarantino declined to do anything about his friend Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulting Thurman.

This was also after Tarantino declined to do anything about his friend Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulting Thurman. It's also been alleged that the film's stunt coordinator Keith Adams was told he wouldn't be needed on set that day to prevent him from overruling the director. Shortly after revealing the story, Thurman said that she forgave Tarantino, but not Weinstein or the other producers involved in covering it up.

** The Bride's storyline of being raped and has her body being taken advantage of is also painful after stories about the abuse Weinstein and Tarantino inflicted on Uma Thurman.

** Despite only appearing in a handful of flashbacks in part two, Pai Mei is, without question, one of the most popular characters in the film.

** Vernita Green has the least screen-time, lacks characterization compared to the other DVAS, and is killed off early into the film (despite actually being the ''second'' DVAS to go down). The fact that she was probably pregnant herself during the time she killed the Bride is also never addressed.
