** The main thing about the product placement is that it's mostly PlayedForLaughs, what with the, on purpose, stilted acting from Happy in the commercial on Sandler's part and blatantness of it coming off more as a parody of the situation. Plus the situation resulting in it made it a logical move in terms of the plot, making it a bit more natural than the in-your-face laziness that his later films would employ.

** Happy's talked up by the commentary as being on Shooter's level for the final tournament during the preamble. The viewers know why that is, given the special training he received. However, as far as the common in-universe person knows Happy's claims to fame are his long drives and beat up with Bob Barker, but not necessarily a top performance at competitions. So why would he be being talked up now?
