* ItsShortSoItSucks:
** A common complaint of the ''Live'' mode in the game, due to only featuring 42 playable songs.
** Justified in ''GHTV'', since more often than not, the songs will be shortened due to using the music video instead of the master tracks, causing songs such as "More Than A Feeling", "Hangar 18" and "Through the Fire and Flames" to be shorter compared to the masters (i.e. "More Than a Feeling, normally a 4 minute song, the music video cuts out the second verse and second chorus and segues right into the solo, cutting out a good minute and a half of the song)

** According to many Reddit users, "Heaven" by ''Music/ThePsychedelicFurs'' is this due to how often it shows up

* ThatOneBoss: The game isn't released yet, but the developers have announced songs on the game, with a particular song announced that was an example of this in the series proper. Welcome back [[Music/{{Pantera}} Cowboys From Hell]]

* InternetBacklash: After the "Through the Fire and Flames" preview, a good chunk of the games fanbase believed it would be added in the January 13th Premium Show update. When the update came, Music/DragonForce was nowhere to be seen, angering a lot of the fans of the game. Currently it is unknown if it will be directly added to the service (a la Black Friday additions) or in its own premium show alongside other potential Music/DragonForce songs or other bands.

Music/DragonForce would eventually be added to the service similar to the Black Friday additions, only this time, in the form of a Shred-a-Thon, where its a full Rivals Mode channel facing people off on "Hangar 18", "Strife", "Ghost Walking", and "Cry of Achilles", followed by "Through the Fire and Flames" as a FinalBoss

** The inclusion of non-rock songs on the soundtrack, featuring the like of Music/CalvinHarris, Music/{{Skrillex}}, Music/BrunoMars, and Music/CharliXCX, is seen by some as a cheap attempt to appeal to the pop crowd. To be fair, rock songs still make up the vast majority of the soundtrack, there being roughly 20 rock songs for every one that isn't, and most of the pop songs won't even be on-disc.
