* ItGetsBetter: ''Death Proof''. Just sit through the first half. Brave through that and it gets better, we promise.

Added DiffLines:

* SlowPacedBeginning: ''Death Proof'' has a rough first half, though it improves after that.

* BaseBreaker: Opinions are divided on ''Death Proof''. Some think that the car chase at the end more than makes up for all of its flaws. Others just can't stand sitting through the rest of the film up to that point.

Added DiffLines:

* ToughActToFollow: Perhaps the biggest obstacle to enjoying ''Death Proof'' is because ''Planet Terror'' was just filled with so much balls-to-the-walls insanity, that nothing could possibly measure up to it.

* CompletelyMissingThePoint: The initial DVD release packaged each film separately, without the fake trailers and with some of the deliberately missing footage restored. This effectively robbed the whole project of its "midnight movie double-feature" format and neatly excised a few of its funniest jokes in the process. Thankfully, the whole thing has since been released in its original format on Blu-Ray.

* CompleteMonster: [[Film/DeathProof Stuntman Mike]]

to:

* CompleteMonster: [[Film/DeathProof Stuntman Mike]]Mike]]. Basically, a cheerful and charismatic man who, behind the wheel, becomes a lady murdering psychopath with a car. Things get worse when it's revealed this is a simple form of bullying he's committing out of wanting attention. Hence why he tries to run off like a coward near the end. At this point, his streak has made a bloody mark on the road.

* CompleteMonster: Stuntman Mike of ''Film/DeathProof'' is a former stunt man and expert driver who becomes a serial killer of women by using his car as a murder weapon. He modifies the car to make it "100% Death Proof" to immunize himself from harm. Then he can use it for vehicular homicide by crashing into cars full of people and killing them in the process, or drive so dangerously that any passengers will die from the blunt force trauma caused by being thrown around in his car and hitting hard surfaces repeatedly. He extensively stalks his victims beforehand, and seems to derive sexual pleasure from his kills. He also toys with his prey, as he pursues a group of women attempting a stunt where one of them is on the hood of their car at high speed. He chases them down the road in a lengthy pursuit to see them terrified for their lives, getting kicks off the whole thing.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Are we really supposed to feel sorry for Dakota (who was cheating on her husband and whose irresponsibility got her son killed) just because she's a battered wife?

* CompleteMonster - Stuntman Mike. It's heavily implied that killing women with his car is the only way for him to receive sexual gratification.
** On the other side of the double feature, Dakota Block wasn't kidding when she told her son to shoot anyone that isn't her "''especially'' if it's your dad", given how Dr. William Block treats her throughout the film, particularly when he suspects her of cheating on him.
*** That and Dakota suspects he's a zombie by that point.
