* HoYay: It's possible to see the book as having a gay subtext. Sam-I-Am is offering something at once familiar and yet with an initially-unappealing aspect to it to Sam-I'm-Not ... like same-sex relations. He is convinced that Sam-I'm-Not really, really, deep down inside ''likes'' it and he knows this. Sam-I'm-Not resists this doggedly, which has to make Sam-I-Am even more convinced that he understands Sam-I'm-Not better than he himself does.

** The VideoGame/LivingBooks adaptation becomes especially suspect to this [[https://youtu.be/t0aOetH59hw?t=7m52s by the end]], with Sam-I'm-Not preparing and feeding Sam-I-Am a giant (blue) roast turkey and eventually leading up to them both walking arm-in-arm into the sunset. Said adaptation also has a clip that got cut out of the final product but [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV3FkoB8rWA?t=2m11s appeared in a prototype demo]] where Sam-I-Am approaches the nameless guy on the plate of green eggs and ham in an oddly... ''suggestive'' pose.

* AndYouThoughtItWouldFail: The announcement and teaser trailer for the Netflix series was mostly met with snark, as there's no way for anyone to stretch the plot of the original book over a full length animated movie, let alone a series. However, once the series debuted and turned out to be a more or less InNameOnly adaptation for the work, only using it's characters and the Seussian style of writing and character design, people pretty much fell in love with it.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: The animated series looks ''gorgeous'', taking Dr. Seuss's whimsical style and giving it a brilliant splash of color, along with some of the most fluid and expressive animation in ''years'' outside of the big screen!
* CrossesTheLineTwice: The trailer for the Netflix series has a clip of Michellee declaring she's vegan...and Sam, earnestly asks, "How long have you known?" as if he thinks she has an STD or something.
* CrossoverShip: Sam-I-Am and [[WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder Wander]] are good buddies due to being positive hat-wearing fellows who travel around making people smile. Sam assures Guy that his family loves him, and want him to be happy, and Guy assures Sam to keep searching for his mother. It's a real touching moment that brings the duo closer together.]]
