* OlderThanTheyThink: Goober was a show that didn't get much air time on Creator/CartoonNetwork. Years later when Cartoon Network ran a fake awards show, out of nowhere Goober was a nominee for several awards. Some kids too young to remember much of the network in the 1990s assumed they made it up.

* SoOkayItsAverage: Goober is rarely mentioned as anyone's favorite Creator/HannaBarbera show, as often when talked about you will get this impression. Generally speaking it's a watchable show with some nice elements but just not anything that special.

** Although it was also notable on these awards ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo'' received a lifetime achievement award and was not eligible for any other voting. With Goober seemingly taking his spots.

* FollowTheLeader: This show has a very distinctive part in the Hanna Barbera meddling kids trend. While it clearly is partly following ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo'', a lot of its variations from Scooby ended up becoming more common in later Scooby installments. So Goober followed Scooby, yet Scooby later followed Goober's lead.
** On one base level, Ted is essentially our straight guy leader. Tina is his beta, who is the pretty redhead girl like Daphne. But Tina is a reporter here and not that ditzy. Daphne, of course, in the later years lost her "danger prone" gimmick and her career of choice was a reporter.
** While Gillie may look to be drawn like Shaggy, in reality the Goober and Gillie dynamic is actually a predecessor to the Scooby and Scrappy dynamic. Goober would run away like a coward while Gillie stayed behind to take pictures, resulting in Goober rushing back to save Gillie.
** The RealAfterAll references would later be utilized in some Scooby productions, although it was featured in Goober episodes years before any Scooby show itself used the trope.
** Lastly, guest stars appear in this show as well, just as in ''WesternAnimation/TheNewScoobyDooMovies''.

While Gillie may look to be drawn like Shaggy, in reality as the norm for many of these series romantic implications are left to subtext.
** About the only major thing assumed by this one is for Ted and Tina as a couple mostly because they always pair off and are dedicated to their job.
