** Kratos has an emotional moment [[spoiler:being reunited with his daughter Calliope in Elysium, before realising it is a trick by Persephone to rob him of his powers. Kratos regains his powers by [[https://youtu.be/9Tlla5OrtLE pushing his tearful daughter away]], but the process is turned into a QTE. Since the cutscene is tied to the player's frantic button mashing, the scene loses much of its emotional impact and is instead made comical, especially given that the awkward animation makes Calliope seem unreasonably strong despite being a small girl]].

Deleting misuse. Gaia's narration may be unnecessary, but there is nothing funny about it.

** Gaia's narration [[NarratingTheObvious is completely unnecessary]] and adds little to the experience, the scenes where she narrates it are capable of driving the point across without it, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8J_tM3Hdas case in point]]. (At 25:14 in the video)

Shocking Swerve is now a redirect for Ass Pull.

* AssPull: [[spoiler: The game builds up Morpheus as the villain for most of the game, then you meet Persephone, and five minutes later, out of nowhere it's revealed that she's behind everything]].

* ItsShortSoItSucks: While still generally thought of positively, this is definitely one of the biggest complaints leveled at the game--it's only around 1/3 of the length of a typical ''[=GoW=]'' game.

* MagnificentBitch: Persephone, Goddess of Spring and unwilling Queen of the Dead, was forced into marrying Hades. Disillusioned with the gods that abandoned her and mortals for their selfishness, Persephone decided to destroy the world and return it all to Chaos. Freeing the Titan Atlas, she sent him to kidnap Helios, causing the sun to fall and Morpheus' influence to spread, putting the gods to sleep, neutralizing them. She then sent Atlas to break the pillar that held the world up while at the same time using a vision of Kratos' daughter to lead him to her. Playing on his love for his daughter and his apathy towards humanity, Persephone tricks him into giving up his powers to purge his sins so he can join his daughter in Elysium, scorning him afterwards for how selfish he is. Driven to nihilism by the fate thrust upon her, Persephone came close to destroying the whole world.

* BadassDecay: All the gods, including Zeus, are helpless to stop Morpheus without Helios. What makes this so striking is that Morpheus isn't even a major god.
