[[(Making more powerful then he really is in canon, making him the main character...at least in season 1 and letting him remember resets) Also, when Sans is suddenly being a holier-than-thou, hypocritical jerk in Season 2, he's never properly called out on his behavior. Then when he dies, he is later brought back to life (temporarily) because the creator likes him, while Alphys (one of the creator's least favorite characters) is killed off permanently and is the only main character of the Orignal Undertale Cast to be dead by the time of Betty's final battle!]]

* CreepyAwesome: Betty and Akumu are able to take on Gaster together with Betty forming Kumu into a ''pink scythe'', and the more souls absorbed by Akumu, the more Betty's hair turns pink with the power of Fear, giving her [[{{Expy}} massive similarities]] to the villain Goku Black from ''Anime/{{Dragon Ball Super}}'' or Marluxia from ''Franchise/KingdomHearts''. Ultimately, enough souls allows them to take over an enemy's magic attacks using "Rhabdophobia". Using Hate allows Betty to exponentially increase her power, and she can even use it to resurrect souls under her control. Finally, [[spoiler:her merged state with Kumu (her original form) allows her to use Kumu's shapeshifter abilities, turning her arms into weapons and setting the stage for her eventual OneWingedAngel transformation.]]

If this wasn't done to her, would she have been a good person and opposed Agate's orders? * AngstAversion: Considering that Season 2 has a [[CharactersDroppingLikeFlies very long string of tragic yet pointless character deaths]], a ridiculously powerful OC villian [[CurbStompBattle who keeps thrashing the heroes over and over]] through a combination of PlotArmor and VillainExitStageLeft, and a group of [[https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Wangst angsty]], [[DysfunctionJunction dysfunctional heroes]] who [[WeAreStrugglingTogether waste so much time on arguing and bickering with each other]] that [[IdiotPlot they can barely slow said villian down]], a ''cynical'' viewer might actually wish for [[spoiler: Betty Noire]] [[BondVillainStupidity to hurry up]] and [[RootingForTheEmpire kill off all of the heroes]] already [[RocksFallEverybodyDies just to be done with it]].

** Undyne the Undying thrashing Betty in Love Part 1, manging to inflict a CurbStompBattle on her even after using HATE to give herself a power boost.

* EvilIsCool: [[spoiler:Bête Noire, the BadassAdorable (not counting when she opens [[BodyHorror her horrifying mouth]] in her true form) capable of creating magical spears, blades, scythes, and giant arrows, as well as specializing in the power of illusion and turning enemies' attacks against them. She is easily one of the most well-known and popular characters in all of the ''Undertale'' fandom, and often gets drawn in fan art with the canon cast.]]

* GeniusBonus: Betty's [[spoiler:ultimate ability, "Rhabdophobia". A secondary definition for it is a fear of ''magic'', which explains why Gaster's magic shuts down after it activates.]]

** You would expect something like [[spoiler:Betty]] to come up as a good reason to RESET, or at the very least for Sans to have some knowledge about someone so dangerous. Disregarding that [[spoiler:Betty]] is an OriginalCharacter, how was no one prepared for them? [[spoiler:It's because Frisk never let any of the timelines get far enough to encounter her; they were too enamored with the Underground and its wonders to let time go on. If they had let even one Pacifist timeline play out past the ending, they would have seen Betty coming. Instead, Frisk unwittingly trapped themselves in the present, glitched timeline that Betty is currently rampaging in, with all of the deaths being irreversible.]]
** A meta-example consists of many fans positing (and in some cases demonstrating with fanvids) that if [[spoiler:Chara]] were ever to re-enter the scene, [[spoiler:Betty]] would quickly cease to be a problem even before it was revealed [[spoiler:Betty]] [[ElementalRockPaperScissors is massively weak to Determination]]. [[spoiler:This exact scenario is set up to happen as of ''My Promise'', but it came at a high price: because two Red Soul owners can't occupy the same timeline and with Frisk being a ticking glitch-bomb, they are forced to RetGone themselves and make Chara take their place in the timeline just so they have the chance to stop Betty and save Asriel. Worse yet, the gamble fails utterly in the first glitched timeline because even if Chara ''can'' obliterate Betty, they were defeated by Corrupted Asriel before they got the chance.]]

** [[spoiler:Betty was EvilAllAlong and]] is the BigBad of Season 2. TheReveal happened in ''Dust'', the second episode of the arc, and has become hard to hide now.

But due to the whole "Hate Possessing Betty's body" thing going on, and also a very large shock factor, a lot of Glitchtale fans thought that Betty was still alive, leading to this meme. ** Jessica Grey happens to own a soul-powered energy gun that allows her to [[spoiler: nullify Sans's magic twice.]]
** The Reveal that Betty [[spoiler: has PsychicPowers that allow her to induce powerful hallucinations that ''simply can not be countered through conventional means'', resulting in a borderline StoryBreakerPower if she chose to use them ''any'' less sparingly]].
** Shortly after [[spoiler: Betty reveals her true colors]], Gaster ''conveniently'' reveals that he and Alphys have been been working on a secret weapon called the Nullifier, which is stated [[ExactWords to be able to destroy any human or monster]]. This weapon is also housed within a large empty room that becomes a very convenient backdrop for [[spoiler: the fight between Gaster and Betty]].

** The Reveal that Betty is [[spoiler: an artificial being that is neither human nor monster, which allows her (and Akumu) to shrug off the Nullifier's effects [[NoSell without a scratch]]]].

** Frisk reveals that they can increase their Level of Violence [[spoiler: through cruel words instead of killing people]].
** Frisk suddenly gives themselves a huge power boost that [[spoiler: instantly increases their Level of Violence to ''nineteen'' ]]through ThePowerOfHate.

** Amber: a little girl who's body was used to create Betty [[spoiler:has a soul with two traits.]]

** Frisk [[spoiler:entering the void to find Chara, giving him their soul so he can save everyone and somehow having the ability to erase/edit memories.]]

** Betty [[spoiler: corners and immobilizes Toriel with her illusion powers, but Gaster suddenly shows up and saves Toriel from being beheaded at the very last second]].
** The manifestation of [[spoiler: Hatred attempts to kill an exhausted Papyrus, but Chara and the purified Asriel make it JustInTime to bail Papyrus and Gaster out.]]

** [[spoiler:Gaster ''annihilating''' Betty in "Animosity" after Sans' FinalDeath, subjecting her to an even more severe CurbSompBattle than the above before giving her one of the most horrifying, brutal, and well-deserved deaths in the whole series. That he is the one to kill her is even more so as he is arguably Betty's biggest victim.]]

** Asriel technically has Chara's soul, but Chara's...spirit? Mind? is stuck in the void... How the heck does that even work?!
** Also, Asriel's body turns to dust instead of him turning back to Flowey.

** Raven's mom is an [insert insulting term here]. [[labelnote:Explanation]] After Raven's tragic backstory is revealed, a lot of Glitchtale fans took offense to how Raven was treated as a child, and as such memes spiraled out of control over who could insult Raven's mom the most.[[/labelnote]]

** It is revealed that [[spoiler: Chara tried and failed to reach out to the corrupted Asriel in a previous timeline , but when he died, Chara was somehow able to go back in time and give an extra heart locket to his past self preventing an otherwise unwinnable situation]].

** Betty being a BrainwashedAndCrazy ObliviouslyEvil TragicVillain is completely unknown to the heroes (and even some viewers), only revealed in supplementary material. It would be interesting to see the heroes sympathize with a creature who lacks the ability to feel positive emotions or make her own decisions without her creator maintaining control from within. Potentially, in the event that she would die in the finale, this could have been a massive TearJerker and AlasPoorVillain moment both In-Universe and out.

** Quite possibly in response to how dark and hopeless things started looking for the heroes by late Season 2, [[spoiler:"Animosity" ends with the heroes having pulled off an unambiguous victory on all 3 fronts. Undyne's group manages to defeat Kumuzilla, Chara saves Asriel without having to resort to killing him, and Gaster's group ultimately manages to ''kill Betty Noire''. The only loss is Sans, whose FinalDeath had been a ForgoneConclusion since "My Promise".]]

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Some found a huge problem with the ending to "Love Part 2": namely, that any character death could be reversed if Camila thought of a way how, and thus there were no real stakes. Future episodes defied this ''so hard'' that [[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor fans were practically begging for lower stakes by the end of it]]:
** "My Promise" showed that [[spoiler:getting Asriel back was much harder than it seemed, since he was too angry with the people he cared about to be brought back to normal in the same manner as Sans.]] [[spoiler:Alphys]] is also implicitly but firmly stated to be beyond resurrection. The ending takes the cake by having [[spoiler:Frisk permanently replace himself with Chara]], proving once and for all that ''no one'' is safe.
** "Game Over: Part 1" showed that [[spoiler:getting ''Sans'' back was harder than it looked, and later [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption stated to be physically impossible by Gaster]], with his efforts only dooming Sans to a worse fate: being awake while dying instead of passing away in peace]].
** "Game Over: Part 2" further reinforced that no one is safe by [[spoiler:killing off Jessica Grey]], while forcing fans to face the possibility of seeing [[spoiler:Sans's FinalDeath by showing him regaining consciousness]], something the teaser for "Animosity" confirms.
* AssPull: There are ''quite a few'' in Season 2:
** The reveal that the Soul of Integrity just so happened to be [[OneDegreeOfSeparation the daughter of Jessica Grey]], which conveniently [[RuleOfDrama ruins]] a series of peace talks between humans and monsters.

** Betty having a special attack that is able to [[spoiler:steal magic attacks.]]

** Amber: a little girl who's body was used to create Betty [[spoiler:has a soul with two traits, which is unnecessary to the story and her blue hair doesn't even match the blue part of her soul.]]
** The reveal that a human sage can use [[BlackMagic forbidden magic]] to [[spoiler: invert their soul trait]], which is the ''sole reason'' why [[spoiler: Betty can even exist in the first place]].

** Rave's healing device, [[spoiler:which is introduced out of nowhere and effortlessly heals Ronan, saving him from what might have been fatal injuries obtained from Kumuzilla.]]
** In My Promise, [[spoiler: Betty and the corrupted Asriel]] are able to corner Frisk, Toriel and Asgore. We see a shot of [[spoiler: Asriel's lightning magic]], but it isn't explained how the three heroes were able to escape with only a few minor injuries simply through the use of a SmashToBlack.
** In Game Over: Part 2, Sans [[spoiler: suddenly wakes up from his coma]], even though Gaster ''explicitly stated'' that this was impossible [[FlipFlopOfGod just one episode prior]].
** In the Animosity trailer, Sans gives Papyrus a tearful line [[spoiler: about how he only has a short time left to live]], with a [[SoapOperaDisease condition]] that wouldn't be out of place within a ''melodramatic soap opera''.

** [[TheHero Copper Lightvale]] had an argument with his sister, [[BitchInSheepsClothing Agate]], about the Barrier which resulted in a fierce battle. He won, but [[HonorBeforeReason he chose to spare her and let her go]] instead of [[ProperlyParanoid imprisoning her]], [[MurderIsTheBestSolution killing her]], or taking ''literally any other action'', ''which comes back to bite and his younger sister in the ass later on''.

** Betty and Akumu [[spoiler:not merging back together after their true intentions are revealed to everyone.]]
