Failing in his attempts on his psychic brother Chick, Arty later tries paying a group of teenagers to murder Chick, before [[ManipulativeBastard tricking Chick]] into becoming a surgeon for his cult, using Chick's abilities to mutilate cultists, maiming them into limbless beings like Arty. Catching his younger [[ConjoinedTwins conjoined twin sisters]] sleeping with another man, Arty arranges them being raped by one of his underlings, resulting in them becoming pregnant, before ordering one of them lobotomized along with many members of his own cult. Discovering his other sister's pregnancy, Arty beats her and tries to have her child cannibalized.

When Arty found out that Oly's daughter is almost like a normal person, he threatens Oly to have her own daughter being fed to Elly and Iphy's overweight child Mumpo. Arty subverts any potential redeeming qualities and is motivated to do his atrocities by his own selfish desires and jealousy to other people, and ended up ruining people's lives without any remorse.

He arranges the rape, forced childbirth, and half-lobotomy of his conjoined twin sisters, Ellie and Iphy, half because he's jealous of their fame, half to [[ControlFreak "punish" them for having sex with other men without his permission.]] He manipulates his psychic little brother [[TheEmpath Chick]] into using his powers to mutilate and lobotomize dozens of members of Arturo's own "Arturian cult" by claiming he's "helping them" even though he knows it makes Chick physically sick and emotionally worn out. Said cult is made up of people he manipulated into giving their lifesaving for the "privilege" of surgically removing their limbs so they can be just like him. Said cult members, he's implied to suck dry financially and then leaves for dead on the side of the road once he's done with them. Oh yeah, and his [[UndyingLoyalty undyingly loyal]] sister Oly? He threatens to have her daughter, and ''[[BrotherSisterIncest his]]'', fed to the literal FatSlob ChildByRape he forced on Ellie and Iphy, because said daughter is too "normal" and thus "useless" to him. And Oly ''knows he's not exaggerating.'' She sends her infant daughter away because she knows Arty ''will'' kill her if he has half a mind. And he does all of this just to hide his insecurities of being "just an industrial accident." By the end of the novel, he has ruined, and ''ended'', dozens of people's lives all for his own selfish ends, and feels ''no'' remorse over it.]]

* MoralEventHorizon: It's hard to know where Arty crosses it, considering he murdered his baby sister Leona as a toddler out of jealousy of her future fame, but [[spoiler:"giving" his sisters Iphy and Ellie to the Bag Man, lobotomizing Ellie, and casually threatening to feed his own daughter to the FatSlob ChildByRape he created]] could all certainly qualify.

** After [[spoiler: Arty becomes the inofficial leader of the Fabulon]], Iphy and Elly also qualify. First he takes more and more control of their show and their lives, then he assigns them a bodyguard they didn't ask for (who tried to [[spoiler: shoot them]] many years ago) and afterwards [[spoiler: ''gives them to him as a gift''. During the resulting pregnancy with a twenty-pound-baby, they get forcefully retired.]]. And that was just before he [[spoiler: had Elly lobotomized]].

He is vindictive, spiteful, petty, cruel, self-absorbed, unkind to anyone except when he's manipulating them for his own end, all while seeing them as nothing but pawns he'll gladly discard once he's done with them. Action-wise he only ever insults, belittles, maims, kills, and [[spoiler:arranges the rape of]] others. He's cruel to Oly despite her undying devotion to him, murdered previous siblings and attempted to murder Chick as a baby for fear that they'd become bigger stars than him, starts the Arturan cult specifically to manipulate people into worshiping him and giving him their life-savings [[spoiler:and maim themselves so they can be like him]], [[spoiler:arranges the twins to be raped as punishment for having sex with other men without his permission, ''forces'' them to carry their 20lb ChildByRape to term, ''lobotomizes Ellie'' so he can have Iphy to himself, and more. He's also completely uninterested in his own daughter Miranda, and casually threatens to kill her (something Oly knows he won't hesitate to do) for being "useless" and "a normie."]]
