*** Which itself has another layer of brilliance. Why does MX target children in particular? Because "[ChildrenAreInnocent Innocence doesn't get you far]]". In regards to M's backstory, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are innocent, with M only targeting them because [[RevengeByProxy they're related to the guilty party]]. Who's to say MX hadn't figured that out and used a LoopholeAbuse?

** Mr Virtual and his song, Paranoia are considered the most unsettling part of the mod by many players and for good reason. Even beyond his NightmareFace and [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver the Virtual Boy colors]], the song begins to mess with the player's computer, meaning that TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou as Mr Virtual starts to exit and re-enter fullscreen mode, move the game window around, and when [[spoiler:taking on Girlfriend's appearance (which is so terrifying that even ''[[FearlessFool Boyfriend]]'' is freaked out), he ''changes the player's desktop wallpaper'' to an image reading "TOO LATE" [[MadnessMantra over and over]].]] By the end, his song will be likely to live up to its name, leaving players deeply shaken for the remainder of the mod.

** [[VideoGame/TooLateExe Mr. L]] gets this to a certain degree. Despite being zigzagged due to the supernatural circumstances that brought him back from death, the [[HauntingTheGuilty lengthy torment he inflicts on his brother]] as revenge over an AccidentalMurder, one that said brother is [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone clearly suffering for]] to the point it culminates in his death is utterly terrifying '''and entirely real.''' To make matters worse? The usual exe or entity usually takes canonical characters as an avatar, but Mr. L? He's still '''Luigi'''. No possessions, no demons, no viruses, just a human so driven by ThePowerOfHate over being the victim of an AccidentalMurder that he goes to make his brother's life hell, and continues doing the same for potential victims long after his death, serving as a surprisingly terrifying example on how [[RevengeBeforeReason revenge can destroy your very soul]]. It's argueably worse in this mod than it was in his original source material as well, as he attacks (and can potentially KILL) Pico, despite him having nothing to do with his death, seemingly having been completely overtaken by malice after his brother's death.

** "Alone" is a [[SadBattleMusic Sad Battle Song]] that's set in the scrapped bad ending of ''VideoGame/LuigisMansion'' where Luigi failed to save Mario from King Boo in time before the mansion vanished... and it reappeared without him. Understandably, Beta Luigi was devastated, with the implication that he's been suicidal ever since. He looks unkempt and sickly while holding a white flower, sings with a gravelly and hushed tone, and to drive home how much he's fallen apart, he didn't have a ''losing icon'' before V2 gave him one. V2 also starts off with Boyfriend's health filled up (as if Beta Luigi lost everything, to the point he doesn't bother trying to win), and adds in a brief section around 3:20 where Mario's ghost shows up to sing some tragic lyrics through the simlish.

** "Overdue" is tense with the frightening Mr. L singing it and Pico having to fight for his life... and then near the end, the music quiets down as a violin starts playing, and Mr. L abruptly sounds surprised about something. Cue [[spoiler:''[=TooLate.exe=] Mario's ghost'']] fading in to defend Pico from Mr. L. In sharp contrast to Mr. L's more harsher and distorted vocals, [[spoiler:Mario's ghost]] sounds human, albeit melancholic. The body language of his moves shows [[spoiler:he's lamenting how vicious his brother has now become]]. His section doesn't last for long and he fades like dust before Pico [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere makes a break for it]], but even without the context of the source material, it paints a tragic picture.
