** Of the "Nightmare Warriors", Jessica, Steven, Renee, and Neil are all particularly wasted. The former two are unceremoniously killed off in the beginning, Jessica having died off screen, and Steven being killed by Jason. The latter two are both killed Freddy and [[spoiler:Maggie]], only for Neil to [[UnexplainedRecovery randomly show up alive]] at the end so someone can read from the Necronomicon.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Lori and Will are introduced early in the first issue... [[spoiler:and are killed quickly]]. Lori could have easily filled a different role in place of Caroline, who has little to no character in the story. Even her becoming Freddy's lover through possible brainwashing instead of [[spoiler:Freddy's own daughter]] would have been something.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: "Nightmare Warriors" ends with the ResetButton being pushed and Nancy's father being sent into the past where this time he makes sure to sign the arrest warrant properly, which in turn will get Freddy arrested and tried properly. And prevent the events of "Nightmare on Elm Street", it's sequels and in turn the the comic from coming to pass. So this more or less allowed all the characters to live if readers weren't happy with the comic's story.

* FanonDiscontinuity: Most fans don't really care for "Nightmare Warriors" feeling it disrespects both ''Nightmare on Elm Street'' and ''Friday the 13th'' franchises history by needlessly killing off most fan favorites from the movies with little to no reason other then shock value. Turning Maggie evil likewise just felt pointless since it goes against everything of her character from "Freddy's Dead" (Where she ''never'' exhibited any behavior of this. If anything she hated her father because he ''abused her mother'' along with killing near all her friends), comes right out of the blue with no buildup to it and nothing comes from it as she gets killed off unceremoniously. With many fans claiming it felt more like a mean spirited TakeThat to the movie just because it's the least popular of the franchise. The fact it reduces Ash and the Deadites role in the story likewise doesn't help either, with the Necronomecon just being a PlotCoupon at best to revive Freddy and be used as his own army.
