** In this series, Barret and Red have a very friendly relationship. In the remake they have a few moments of antagonistic banter.

** In Episode 15, Hojo is surrounded by women in bikinis that he plays up as his charm...till one of the girls asks for their pay. It turns out that ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIIRebirth'' give a similar explanation as to why someone as detestably as Hojo is surrounded by women in Costa del Sol. The trio of women, named [[NamedByTheAdaptation Fran, Naomi, and Yorda]], are just employees of Costa del Sol's mayor who were asked to act as Hojo's PaidHarem, and have no true interest in Hojo whatsoever.
** Part of Machineabridged's friendship between Barret and Red is that they share the same bed AKA "Avalanche Snuggles." ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIIRebirth'" has Barret also snuggling one night with a furry companion... though it's Cait Sith and allegedly because Barret thought he was Marlene.

* ItsShortSoItSucks: The first three seasons take their time to tell all of Disc 1 in three parts, mining the material for all the comedy it's worth while still being an ''Abridged'' series, cutting away the chaff significantly. In comparison, Season 4 barrels through the ''entirety'' of Disc 2 as fast as it possibly can, which left most viewers with a significant sense of whiplash. This is likely because TFS is trying to end it sooner rather than later in order to avoid the [[ArtistDisillusionment burnout]] that killed WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged, so make of it what you will. Also, to be fair, Disc 2's plot-relevant content is significantly smaller in volume than the very story-packed Disc 1. Moreso Disc 3, which will be a finale movie, rather than a whole multi-episode season, since its only major story beats to cover are the descent into the Northern Crater, final battle, and ending, with [[spoiler: Bugenhagen's death, which was hinted at in Episode 30]] as an optional quest.

** Cloud's complaints about the "Gil to Gold Points" exchange system at Gold Saucer, in Episode 16, is not unlike the initial reaction of the PremiumCurrency system in some games (specifically mobile ones), that appeared at the time of the episode's premiere. While the GP system exists in the game, Antfish commented how well-timed it was due to the subject.
*** A season later in Episode 23, manager Dio listens to Cloud's comments but creates a complicated "[[LootBoxes Loot Saucer]]" model that takes the above process a step further, using GP for a box that rewards a voucher or another random prize. It actually hurts the theme park's more than helps as later games shut down, sometimes because of this similar system.

** The party's [[TranquilFury calm but livid death threat to Cait Sith]] in Episode 24 can be pretty cathartic to listen to. As it more or less sums up how players of the original FFVII felt about the character after he backstabbed them.
