* CounterpartComparison: Scooter and Bill from the TTL segments can be seen as precursors, both historically and animation-wise, to [[WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants and Squidward Tentacles]], their designs even being vaguely similar. Short, blocky Scooter and [=SpongeBob=] are both ThePollyanna in their worlds, while their respective tall, thin {{Foil}}s, Bill and Squidward are the ComicallySerious [[CosmicPlaything Cosmic Playthings]].

* JustHereForGodzilla: The Terrible Thunderlizards segments. Yeah, who wants to see a bunch of obnoxious talking commando dinosaurs? Scooter and Bill the Cavemen are the ''real'' reason why we watch them!

**Sharky could be seen as a villainous version of Perry The Platypus or Gromit.

* JerkassWoobie: [[BewareOfViciousDog Sharky]]. There are episodes where he maims and attacks Eek but he gets abused more than any other character in the show. He was horribly abused in "Shark Therapy", forced into being nice in "A Sharkwork Orange" and bullied by mailmen in "The Gradueek". Most of his translated dialogue consists of sarcastic jabs at Eek or "Why me?" before he receives inevitable harm. Also, his soft, puppylike whimpers when he gets hurt will make you pity the bloodthirsty guard dog.

** Also, General Galapagos was voiced by Creator/KurtwoodSmith- in a sense, being neighbors with Don Stark (who voiced The Rhino in ''WesternAnimation/SpidermanTheAnimatedSeries'' at the same time on Fox Kids) before ''Series/That70sShow'' came along (which also aired on Fox, to add to the irony).

** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWSLmSugrfs SNES game's soundtrack]] is surprisingly amazing and is easily one of the hidden gems of the 16-Bit era. The game itself is an obscure and NintendoHard platformer that somehow manages to have its entire gameplay revolve around {{Escort Mission}}s.
