* AccidentalInnuendo: Dad Tiger saying "What happened? You both look sticky and wet" during "Daniel Loves Tigey". He says this to Daniel as Margaret walks up behind him, as they were playing together. It becomes clear with preceding/following comments that "you both" refers to Daniel and Tigey and that Margaret spilled orange juice on them.

* StrangledByTheRedString: "The Neighborhood Wedding" will feature Dr. Anna and Baker Aker getting married. However, prior to this, they never really interacted much or were seen together, aside from background moments in "Calm at the Restaurant" and "Prince Wednesday Gives Away His Book." This make their sudden marriage feel forced. Many people outside of the target audience assumed that Baker Aker [[HopelessSuitor either liked Mom Tiger]] or was gay.

** Parents and fans disliked the sudden animation change startning with Season 6, feeling that it was rather [[LimitedAnimation limited]] and stiff compared to the more lively previous seasons. The slowed-down dialogue and slightly adjusted character designs have also been subject to criticism.

* MisBlamed: The core reason of the FandomRivalry. In a glaring example of the ''Most Visible Target'' fallacy, many fans of this show blamed ''WesternAnimation/WordParty'' as the reason the this show was dropped from Netflix, as the show (along with a whole plathora of Creator/NineStoryMediaGroup shows) was dropped days before ''Word Party'' premiered. The real reason is that [[http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/01/amazon-prime-pbs-kids-deal Amazon had just snatched the rights out of Netflix's hands by signing a (legally questionable) multi-year exclusive deal to stream PBSKids shows]].

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Despite being based on an American show, ''Daniel Tiger'' is also very popular in Canada, to the point where it's one of [[Creator/{{CBC}} CBC Kids]]' flagship shows. It helps that the show was created by a Canadian company and uses many Canadian voice talents.
** It also seems to be popular in Italy, where it airs on Cartoonito.

Additionally, they sometimes include episodes of Daniel on DVDs with other PBS Kids shows, even when the included story is only tangentially related to the theme. However, isn't this supposed to be illegal in the US and the FTC should move to block these kinds of deals?[[/note]]
** The show also has a rivalry with fans of just about every PBS Kids show currently running, due to ''Daniel'''s AdoredByTheNetwork status making fans of the other shows (especially fans of ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'', ''WesternAnimation/WildKratts'', ''WesternAnimation/NatureCat'', and ''Series/OddSquad'', since those 4 are the most popular PBS Kids shows on air that aren't LongRunners like ''Sesame Street'', ''Cyberchase'', and ''Arthur'') feel like PBS is marginalizing the other shows in order to make ''Daniel'' seem more important. For example, PBS Kids released the DVD for the TV movie ''Tiger Family Trip'' right off the bat, but refused to release [=DVDs=] for the TV movies that premiered over the summer of 2017 (''Nature Cat: Ocean Commotion'', ''Wild Kratts Alaska: Hero's Journey'', and ''Ready Jet Go! Back to Bortron 7''.) Additionally, they have a bad habit of including installments of ''Daniel'' on themed DVD releases with other PBS Kids shows, even when the included story is only tangentially related to the theme. For example, the release ''Ocean Adventures'' includes the story "Daniel's Day of Many Feelings," even though this story has ''nothing'' to do with the theme other than a brief segment in which Daniel reads a book about a girl who's a deep-sea diver and imagines being one. This despite the fact that Daniel and his family's home is ''on a beach'' and there are certainly other stories of the show which could have more directly fit the theme. All of the other episodes on that disc from other shows fit the theme much better
** It's quite possible to find a lot of bronies that hate this show, as they believe that only My Little Pony is teaching good morals about friendship and consider this show to be inferior. Never mind that FIM itself contains an egregious amount of bad morals since season 2. It appears that this started with rumors that DHX was planning to acquire Nine Story Media Group.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Those who remember ''Mister Rogers'' and don't like this show generally believe this. Reasons range from "children need to see real people instead of cartoons" and "it's missing that warmth and magic" to "it's too cartoonish and hyper" and "this is blasphemy! Mister Rogers must be rolling in his grave!".

* NightmareFuel: While it's a pretty tame cartoon for the most part there were two episodes called "Circle Time Squabble" and "It's Not Okay To Hurt Someone" where Daniel gets angry at Miss Elaina and Margaret respectively. In the first one, Daniel gets so angry at Miss Elaina that he [[WouldHitAGirl wants to push her off the stool]], scaring her, and even worse, he wants to punch Margaret for messing up his toy farm scaring his sister as well! Luckily, Teacher Harriet and Daniel's mom stopped him before he hurt anyone, but their shouting can be scary for some, especially for younger viewers! They only did it to stop Daniel, and in the end he calms down and doesn't hurt the girls, but it's still a scary moment that Daniel Tiger, who's [[BewareTheNiceOnes normally a sweet and friendly tiger]], would turn ferocious and be tempted to hurt one of his friends or his sister!

* ShockingMoments: In "It's Not OK to Hurt Someone", the character who Daniel wants to hurt is ''Margaret''.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: The episodes on voting remind us that everyone’s vote counts and that we should try to find something good about alternatives when we don't get what we want. It's important for everybody.

** Many took issue with the black Miss Elaina voiced by a white actress. When Season 5 came around, she was replaced by a black actress.

** For the first four seasons, Miss Elaina was voiced by a white actress even though she's black. In season 5, she got a new voice actress, who is black.
