"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: In the finale of ''Supernatural Investigations'', Jacob [[spoiler:defects to the Demon Queen under the illusion that his wife Lily, whose body the queen is trapped in, still lives inside her.]] After [[spoiler: the Queen's demise]], Jacob is EasilyForgiven by the team after he apologises for his actions, [[spoiler: despite handing Arthur's blood to the Queen, nearly resulting in her plans working]]. Many fans felt that Jacob should have, at least, been called out for his actions.
* WhatAnIdiot:
** The way Jones gets poisoned by [[spoiler:Margaret Littlewood]].\\
'''You'd Expect:''' That Jones would notice that the cupcakes she offers him look ''exactly the same'' as the one found in the victim and that he would consider this suspicious.\\
'''Instead:''' While he ''did'' decline at first, he still eats it without question, nearly getting killed as a result.
** The Inner city district has several occasions of victims missing their organs which was never found, nor the killers ever testify about them in the interrogations and the police forgot to question about them,''' multiple times''' \\
'''You'd Expect:''' That the police to go question them again in prison about where those organs are.\\
'''Instead:''' The police never thought of doing such a thing, Only when the political figures start getting involved when they finally catch on about the organ stealing scheme.
** The last case of the Ivywood Hills arc of Pacific Bay. The police discovered that the Utopians intended to broadcast a brainwashing film during the Ivywood Film Awards ceremony, but could not get any strong evidence of it to stop the scheme in time, or cancel or postpone the ceremony. In the short hours before it, the player manages to capture the murderer of the most recent murder, but not the brainwashing film or the author of it.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' That the police department would not watch the ceremony, as they know what is about to happen.\\
'''Instead:''' They watched it, and were all brainwashed, with the only exceptions of Hannah, Russell, and the player, who were attending the sentencing of the criminal at the time.

There's no discussion of the player character's details.

** The social life of the Player Character. While it is obvious that their colleagues respect them and view them as a true friend, we never see our character's life outside of their job. Some fans have stated it would be nice if the player character had a love interest in each season or we got to see their family.

This is missing the point of the "Love to Hate" category. It's meant to be about characters that the audience likes because of how evil they are yet this seems to be describing them as "characters that the audience hates because of how awful they are" Heck the Nebet one isn't even all that true since she still had her fair share of fans even after her betrayal and more people liked her again after her heroic sacrifice.

* ArchivePanic: Good luck if you've just recently started to play the game. For the first five seasons, the total cases for each season range from 56 to ''60''. Not to mention each case (except Grimsborough's Case #1 without the Additional Investigation) may need a few days to complete, unless you speed things up using cash. It gets better since Season 6, when the total number of cases have been halved.

*SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: For a game series with only 17 soundtracks in its entire repertory, some of them still manage to be quite catchy and epic in their own way, with the following deserving special mention:
**The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xAVCPFNhnw Arrest Killer Theme]] ([[RecurringRiff which is shared among all games]]), a tense and dreadful piece that plays whenever you are about to put the handcuffs on the case's killer. Specially satisfying to hear it in the final case of a district, as you're most likely to be putting an end to the plans of the ArcVillain / BigBad right there.
**The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr-uu7rfq68 Pacific Bay Menu Theme]], which sounds as relaxing as a game full of murder allows, perfectly captures the chill atmosphere of [[BeachEpisode Pacific Bay]] compared to [[ViceCity Grimsborough]].
**There's also the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCze8vTDdjw Pacific Bay Crime Scene Theme]], a slow ballad with guitar riffs that manages to create an atmospheric and melancholic theme without discarding the chillness that characterizes Pacific Bay.
**[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGmS_DYqJWk Save the World Menu Theme]] sounds much more serious than any previous (or following, for that matter) menu themes in the series, showcasing the DarkerAndEdgier aspect of the season. At the same time, though, it also manages to sound epic and triumphant, encouraging you to keep going and put an end to the global threat that is [[spoiler:[[NebulousEvilOrganization SOMBRA]]]].
**As soon as you hear [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcEatPaiaws The Conspiracy Menu Theme]], you KNOW shit's about to go down [[RemixedLevel on your return to Grimsborough]], which somehow has gone FromBadToWorse during your absence. Are you up for the challenge?
**[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KIqwP56ikY Travel in Time Menu Theme]] has an unique and mystic feeling that prepares you for what's possible [[SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong the biggest challenge you'll ever face in Criminal Case]].

Too Bleak Stopped Caring only applies if none of the characters (protagonists included) are portrayed in a positive light, which is far from the case here.

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: There's almost no saint victim. In virtually every case, the victims are loathed by more than one suspects for one reason or another, regardless of whether they deserve to be treated as [[AssholeVictim Asshole Victim]]s or not. As noted in {{Narm}} below, the game shamelessly depicts murder victims [[UsefulNotes/VictimBlaming in a negative light]], and the suspects [[SpeakIllOfTheDead openly trash-talk them]] as if they never learned how to [[NeverSpeakIllOfTheDead not speak ill of the dead]].

Furthermore, this season is quite blunt about [[RealityEnsues how harsh reality is and how the smallest actions have consequences]], and often weaves that into the storyline, and the amount of suspense and high stakes in this season can rival that of ''The Conspiracy''.

* AssPull: The game often introduces big twists for the arc climax or finale, only for TheReveal to fall flat due to its complete lack of {{foreshadowing}} and how jarring they are.
** The final case of Ivywood Hills reveals that [[spoiler:Holly Hopper]]'s apparent suicide in the previous case was fake. Some people found the revelation to be nonsensical and unnecessary. The fact that this reveal also comes with another huge reveal that [[spoiler:Holly is the Utopian's leader (many fans were expecting Jupiter Crane to be the leader, as this would have given the entire conflict a more dramatic weight, due to his [[ArchnemesisDad history]] with Russell)]] might have something to do with the backlash as well.
