** Fans are divided about weither Laura [[spoiler:being excluded from the group and getting her memory erased at the end of "Mutiny"]] was a well-deserved punishment or [[spoiler:a {{Hypocrite}} move from Jeremy, considering how many times he himself ended up putting the Lyoko-Warriors in trouble with his own mistakes.]]
* CanonSue: Laura has shown many signs to be considered this. She shows up out of nowhere as new student who proves to be able to outsmart Jérémie in her first episode. When she returns, she proves capable of designing a virus that will work on a Lyoko-like system which even Jérémie himself could not do, and in the process figured out the existence of the Return to the Past and how to exempt herself from it, doing the latter right under Jérémie's nose while simultaneously working on the aforementioned virus. Whenever a problem that Aelita and Jérémie can't solve shows up, they just call for her, and she solves the problem in a few seconds, while calling it "easy". The only thing that ''might'' save her from being one is the fact the Lyoko Warriors are not at all happy with the way she's integrated herself with them and only include her out of necessity. Finally subverted in spectacular fashion in "Mutiny", where she makes her last mistake.

** A debatable case with the Scyphozoa: in the Original Series, it was nearly indestructible, to the point it was only destroyed once in the whole show (and even then, it was more hinted than anything). In "Mutiny", it takes significantly more time to take over William's mind than before and is easily destroyed when the Lyoko-Warriors manage to destroy its tentacles. Some fans, though, consider this a case of TropesAreNotBad, since the Scyphozoa was pretty much a BoringInvincibleVillain in the original series.
* VisualEffectsOfAwesome: The 3D parts and the Factory are quite impressive to look at. The reactivation of the Supercomputer, especially, is a wonder to see. Just look at the new [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80apDVFYp0U Return to the Past animation]]!

* FanonDiscontinuity: It's already been getting a lot of this. That a new creative team is working on it, with the old one only there for the first two transitional episodes, makes it even easier.

Added DiffLines:

* OnlyTheCreatorDoesItRight / MyRealDaddy: The showrunners of ''Code Lyoko'' (Jerome Mouscadet, Sophie Decroisette and Bruno Regeste) only contributed to the start of the show and scripted a few random episodes. In a later interview, Decroisette admitted that most of their input into the show was ignored and their work from the series bible of the original show disregarded by the ''Evolution'' staff, and as such they don't really feel involved with ''Evolution'' and pretty much disown it entirely.

* BaseBreaker: Laura. Some fans are glad a new Lyoko-Warrior finally is joining, others (apart from the DieForOurShip aspect) are questioning the point of adding a feminine counterpart to Jérémie when such a character (Aelita) already exists, while still others would rather have had Sissi as a new recruit. Not helped by "Virus" giving her major CommonMarySueTraits.

Not helped by "Virus" giving her major CommonMarySueTraits.CommonMarySueTraits, and "Mutiny" [[spoiler: making her a flat-out traitor.]]

* UnfortunateImplications: Using a Caucasian blonde actress for Sam, who was black in the original series.

** Could be made worse by the fact in France, actors who are of African descent are not allowed to work in live action. This means not only did Sam have to change but the minor character Tamiya will have to be ExiledFromContinuity.

** The 2D being replaced by live-action is the most obvious exemples, but it's far from being an isolated case.

* ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch: As noted below, the show was bashed before it ever came up. Fans went in ebullition just by learning about the 2D being replaced by live-action.

* FridgeBrilliance:
** Odd is the most affected when attacked by the Spectre in "Spectromania" (the others get sick; he get ''deaf'') and the one who has the most difficulty using the Tower. The end of the episode reveals he is the one who lost the most source-code.
** As much as the poor quality of XANA's attacks can be blamed on shoddy execution, he really ''can't'' do a lot of the more flashy attacks he used before because killing the heroes is not an option anymore.
** As pointed by the actors themselves in an interview, Sissi did mention in an original series episode that she dreamed to be blonde. Assuming she just dyed her hair, the change then makes sense.
** William is the first to got to Laura after the return to the past doesn't work on her. Well, the same shtick happened to him [[CallBack months ago]].
* FridgeLogic:
** When the ''Skidbladnir'' was destroyed by the Kolossus in season 4 of ''Code Lyoko'', it was said it would take months to reprogram it. Jérémie successfully reprograms it in episode 2, and it seems highly unlikely he remade it during the timeskip when the supercomputer wasn't even active.
** [[spoiler:In the finale episode, it's revealed Tyron is now married to Anthéa, meaning he is Aelita's legal guardian. The problem is, Aelita technically is around 24 years old, and as such should not ''need'' any guardian in the eyes of the law. Her ''Aelita Stones'' identity legally is 14 years old, but that identity has her being Odd's cousin, and as such isn't related to Anthéa or Franz in any way. Moreover, no character seems to notice a girl who should be 24 years old still looks like 14 years old, something that was actually mentioned in the original series!]]
