** Can my nuts hang?[[note]]A misheard lyric from "Cherry-Coloured Funk", one of the band's best-known songs, spread around due to the unintelligible and/or [[WordSaladLyrics word-salad]] nature of the band's music. The line is actually "unbro''ken by not saying''".[[/note]]

added details as to the incompleteness of lullabies to violaine

* ArchivePanic: The band's discography is lengthy with several non-album singles and [=EPs=] to go along with the eight studio albums. ''Lullabies to Violaine'' at least collects the singles and [=EPs=] into one box set, but that's still many hours of music to explore.

''Lullabies to Violaine'' at least collects the singles and [=EPs=] into one box set, but that's still many hours of music to explore. Even then, it still misses some tracks like the Chinese-language version of "Serpentskirt" featuring Faye Wong and "Need-Fire" from the Film/JudgeDredd soundtrack, the latter which was never released as a single.

* SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel: "Heaven Or Las Vegas". Can also be applied to everything they've done with the exception of ''Garlands''. There's a reason they're the first thing most people think of when they hear the word, "DreamPop". They were the chill-out band of choice for indie kids of the '80s and '90s.

Awesome Music moved to its own tab

* ArchivePanic: The band's discography.
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic:
** ''Heaven Or Las Vegas'', of course. Every song could be talked about here, but a few examples:
*** Album opener "Cherry-Coloured Funk", a great introduction to the SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel of the album. [[EpicRiff And those guitar riffs are beautiful.]]
*** The TitleTrack, which is ear worm incarnate and a perfect showcase of Fraser's IndecipherableLyrics.
*** "Pitch The Baby". [[EpicRiff That bassline is perfection.]]
*** All of "I Wear Your Ring" is great, but special mention goes to its last minute which features a truly transcendental outro.
*** [[GrandFinale Album closer "Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires"]] starts out with a [[EpicRiff beautiful piano riff]] and sparse percussion, coupled with ambient noise. Liz's voice starts, reverberating through the atmosphere... And then after a minute and a half, [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome those three drum hits.]] I can't explain it well here, but there are three drum hits that happen right before chorus the song just explodes, with a [[EpicRiff guitar riff cutting through everything]] and the incredibly catchy vocals of the chorus, even if [[IndecipherableLyrics you can't completely tell what she's saying.]]
---> ''Rounder...''\\
''Pull rounder...''
** Fans and critics will often cite ''Treasure'' as well. "Lorelei" from this album is a good example, ''especially'' that bridge.
** Many fans will argue that there's awesome music to be found throughout their career - including their more post-punk/goth-sounding material of 1982-3 (consider [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQGY_cP1d0U this]] EpicRiff) and their later songs in which Fraser adopted a more personal lyrical style (like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgGcPdXU5jc this]] TearJerker).

Slight correction, the cover has generally way more listens on You Tube etc.

* CoveredUp: Their version of Music/TimBuckley's "Song to the Siren" (done as part of the Music/ThisMortalCoil project), is much better known than the original. That is, at least until his son Music/JeffBuckley had a cult following, causing Tim's cult status to make his version the more well known version again.

* YokoOhNo: Robin Guthrie tends to be viewed as this by fans, mainly due to ''everything'' that has happened to Elizabeth Fraser, despite the two deciding to continue working within the band despite their divorce (supposedly caused due to Guthrie's alcohol and drug addictions and the amount of stress she endured during the recording of ''Four-Calendar Café''.)
