* SoOkayItsAverage: Not the movie itself, far from it, but the ''An Uncommon Romance'' segment. It's defiantly the best and most interesting of the three segments, with Anastasia's character development doing a lot to expand on what was previously a very one note character. Unfortunately, with it being one third of an already short movie (the whole thing is only 73 minutes after all) and that it dedicates some of its short time to Lucifer and Pom-Pom, the story has no room to breathe, and it's forced rush through.

* FanonDiscontinuity: The third film itself, [[AvertedTrope while not]] [[CanonDiscontinuity outright removing this film from canon]], and even having a few references to it, seems to act more as a sequel to the very first film than anything, making this one easier to ignore (Though you could look at the two films the other way round - ''this'' film is a sequel to ''III'', with Lady Tremaine and Drizella somehow being turned back human.)

Snow White used the phrase "Dreams Come True" as well...

* HilariousInHindsight: By humorous coincidence, a few years after the film's release, the film's subtitle would be used by Ride/DisneyParks as part of their slogan, "Where Dreams Come True". This is made funnier given that the castle used for the Disney Parks logo is Walt Disney World's ''Cinderella'' Castle.

* {{Tearjerker}}: ''An Uncommon Romance'' has quite a few.
** In general, the entire segment enforces [[AscendedFridgeHorror the harsh reality]] of Tremaine's controlling nature over her biological daughters. On the surface, Anastasia and Drizella seem just as vain and selfish as their mother, but Anastasia in particular is shown to have incredibly low self-esteem and a genuine soft side when away from her mother's influence. The sisters may not have been as openly abused as Cinderella was, but they were just as unhappy with Tremaine as their mother.
** Cinderella's first attempt to arrange a MeetCute between Anastasia and the Baker results in a startled horse kicking Anastasia right into the Baker's shop, covering her with eggs and other messy ingredients. She runs off humiliated and teary-eyed while the other villagers laugh at her. In any other circumstance, Anastasia being put through such an embarrassing ordeal would be [[CatharsisFactor incredibly satisfying]], but here you just want to give the poor girl a hug.
** While also heartwarming, there's an underlying sense of tragedy to Anastasia and Cinderella's interactions in this segment. Cinderella holds no resentment for the mistreatment that Anastasia helped put her through all those years and genuinely tries to help her, but one can't help but imagine how much closer they could have been growing up if it weren't for Tremaine's influence over them.
** After her confidence boost from Cinderella, Anastasia goes to meet the Baker, only to see him seemingly give a heart shaped garland to another woman (this woman was actually a platonic friend, and the Baker was only asking her if she thought Anastasia would like the garland). Anastasia bursts into tears and runs away, dropping her own garland she was going to give to him. The Baker is confused and upset by her leaving, as is the little girl that Anastasia had previously given one of her flowers to.
** Though Anastasia stands up to her mother and is implied to be growing out from her control, Drizella remains with Tremaine in the ending. She silently watches Anastasia's resistance, almost touched at the whole affair, until Lady Tremaine snaps at her and demands that she leave. Drizella gives one last sad look at her sister, before quietly acquiescing to her mother's demands and leaving her, with Tremaine all but disowning Anastasia as they leave her with the Baker.

* JustHereForGodzilla: ''An Uncommon Romance'' is the only part of the movie people even kind of like.

* JustHereForGodzilla: It's widely agreed that the third segment, ''An Uncommon Romance'' Romance'', is the best of the three and the only part of the movie people even kind of like.really worth watching.

* SoOkayItsAverage: Not the movie itself, far from it, but the ''An Uncommon Romance'' segment. It's by far the best part of the movie and Anastasia's character development does a lot to expand on what was previously a very one note character and sets up her characterization in the [[WesternAnimation/CinderellaIIIATwistInTime third film]], but with way too much of its already short run time dedicated to Lucifer and Pom-Pom, the segment is too compressed to feel complete.

** Averted if you look at the two films the other way round - ''this'' film is a sequel to ''III'', with Lady Tremaine and Drizella somehow being turned back human.
*** One potential with that is, its unlikely Cinderella would want Anastasia to go back to her stepmother given the abuse they both suffered under her nor is it likely Anastasia would go back to her after she stood up to her in the third movie. Also Tremaine and Drizella (mainly Tremaine) were involved in a plot to try and take over the kingdom which is grounds for execution no doubt, so they got off lightly with being made into castle servants and the King is unlikely to let them return to their former status as a result. Also the end credits of III indicate some elements of this movie are canon to it. The first two segments can occur with no changes needed in [=III's=] timeline while the last one were Anastasia meets the Baker can occur with a few altercations to how it plays out in [=III's=] timeline.
