** This is a result of AdaptationInducedPlotHole. In the game, Ragna explicitly states that [[spoiler: he is unable kill to Terumi because he has a life link with Noel, so leaving him unconscious was the best he could do]]. This is not mentioned in the anime.

character derailment is listed in Flame Bait, Adaptation Decay is In Universe Examples Only

* AdaptationDecay: Trying to fit 2 games into 12 episodes made this inevitable. Between the ignored subplots, large chunk of the cast being DemotedToExtra, and the lack of context to everything through poor explanation, the only people who could understand the series are fans, and they then have to watch a watered down version of the plot that only covers the bare minimum.

* CharacterDerailment: Jin suffers heavily from this when he [[spoiler: breaks free from Yukianesa’s control]]. In the games, while he does declare that he will fight Tsubaki if she stands against the changes to the world he intends to make with [[spoiler: The Power of Order]], immediately after the fight Phantom teleports her away and Jin wonders if he will be able to save her (as she is still [[MoralityPet the person he cares about most]]). In the anime he coldly tells her that she is NotWorthKilling and leaves her which nearly [[DrivenToSuicide drives her to commit suicide]]. Also, in the games, after [[spoiler: he stops Yukianesa from amplifying the Power of Order’s impulse to kill Ragna to {{Yandere}} levels]] Jin is much more in control whenever he meets Ragna, although he still feels he has to kill him. In the anime, despite claiming that he has undergone CharacterDevelopment, he immediately attacks Ragna in exactly the same way as he used to.

Not YMMV.

* AdaptationInducedPlotHole: In the games, Ragna [[spoiler: left Hazama for dead]] because of the [[spoiler: life link he had with Noel]], meaning he couldn't die anyway, something Ragna acknowledges. Since no such thing is even mentioned in the anime, Ragna's decision makes no type of of sense.
