* AscendedMeme: In Episode 3, .
* CompleteMonster: Hazama[=/=]YĆ«ki Terumi continues to be a monstrous sadist. He burned down the church taking care of the young Ragna, Jin, and Saya, and dismembered Ragna by possessing his younger brother. Using his high position in the NOL, he orders Tsubaki Yayoi to assassinate her best friend Noel. Maniuplating Tsubaki's jealousy, he goads her in the fight proper despite the Izayoi's hurtful side effects. After having an entire military branch killed to supply life-force energy to the Monolith, Hazama/Terumi encounters Noel and Makoto Nanaya and severely tortures the latter in order to top off a MindRape of the former. Having threatened the world through his own failed experiment, the Black Beast, and planning to do it again for his selfish designs with the Kusanagi, Hazama/Terumi still proves to be an irredeemable monster despite the CompressedAdaptation.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Lambda-11. Even detractors of the anime agree that the changes that the anime-only Episode 8 made to her character, going from a nerfed PaletteSwap of Nu-13 with little else to make her distinct to a Moe RobotGirl who was innocent and curious in nature, were for the better. In fact, that episode boosted her popularity enough to allow her a chance to return as a playable character in VideoGame/BlazBlueChronophantasma Extend after being excluded in the base game, and to solidify the transition, Lambda's character has since been updated to follow her anime incarnation.
* Narm:
** Jin randomly spinning around when moving towards in a fight.
** Jin's fight against Ragna in the Calamity Trigger episodes due to the "expert animation".
* NarmCharm: Fully animated Hazama writhes in this. And it is GLORIOUS.
* SoBadItsGood: Despite its very OffModel animation and lackluster fight scenes, some viewers found the anime to be pretty "good" because of these.
* VindicatedByHistory: Upon initial release, SoBadItsGood was the best praise most gave this series. After the whole NoDubForYou fiasco surrounding Central Fiction, however, a number of fans have warmed up to it due to it being another example of the franchise's SugarWiki/SuperlativeDubbing (albeit, to a lesser extent, due to LipLock).
