** Colt is liked by many due to his humorous dialogue and survivalist nature.

* StrangledByTheRedString: The primary complaint about this story is that the writers are forcing players to pursue Sawyer even when they are pursuing other love interests instead, given that players get to know him for free while having to pay diamonds to know the other three. It's gotten to the point where almost every conversation that Sawyer has with Morgan sounds like he's inviting them to have sex with him.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Dallas's entire backstory [[spoiler:where he was framed for a robbery by his ex's jealous new boyfriend and has to become a fugitive because being a poor black kid]] is hidden behind a Premium scene and is never incorporated in any meaningful way into the narrative beside for his aloof behavior. Many fans even think that this backstory is even more compelling than the main plot. In Book 2, Dallas finally has a subplot that involves [[ClearMyName clearing his name]], but it has been criticized for its quick and abrupt resolution despite the racial ramifications behind it, which many players find insulting.

** Sawyer. His fans like him for his hospitality and character design while his detractors dislike him for taking up too much screen time at the cost of other love interests, especially Juliette and Asha. Another group of detractors also dislike him for being a FlatCharacter with an HonorBeforeReason attitude compared to his brother Duke.
** Dallas is either liked for his DarkAndTroubledPast and [[DefrostingIceKing gradual openness to Morgan and other people]] or disliked for being just as forced on Morgan as Sawyer is.

* CreatorsPet: Many players point out that the writers blatantly favor Sawyer over Juliette, Asha, and, Dallas, given that there are far more free and premium scenes with him over the other three, and his romance route is considered the most developed.

** Several players bemoan that Asha Roanhorse barely shows up in the story despite having been introduced as a love interest early on. They even pointed out that not only is she a NiceGirl and SelfMadeWoman, qualities that make her admirable, but she also tries to know Morgan on a personal level rather than being flirty all the time, which would've made her a memorable love interest in her own right.
