* TheWoobie - Ginger in Episode 54. Her boyfriend breaks up with her... and she gets appendicitis the same night.

* JerkassWoobie: In the final episode Blake of all people becomes this. Before he was an arrogant SmugSnake, but than when his dad is forced to liquidate all the resources he has to fight his court battles he and his family lose everything and he's reduced to begging Carl for help finding a home. What clinches it is when Blake actually starts crying when Carl accuses him of faking. Hell Carl actually feels sorry for the poor bastard.

* MoralEventHorizon: Miranda crosses it in the ''very'' first episode (save the pilot), "Ginger the Juvey", when she tricks Ginger to steal the "enter" sign at a bank for Courtney's gift, so that she can [[spoiler:call the police to arrest her, just because she simply hated her.]]
* NightmareFuel: ''And She Was Gone'' the [[DerangedAnimation video]] helps.
* OutOfCharacterMoment: "Wicked Game", while Dodie conspiring to break up Ginger and Darren sadly isn't that much of a stretch, Macie actually getting involved with it too is quite out of character.

** FridgeBrilliance: They're in Middle School, a time when kids haven't mentally matured and tend to be more Self-Absorbed

* CanonSue - A minor exmaple, Noelle Sussman. For the first couple seasons she was merely a [[RecurringExtra recurring background character]], and at the end of the second season this is lampshaded when Hoodsey points her out to Carl as the perfect test subject to use their vanishing powder on. After Carl uses the powder on her, he and Hoodsey begin to notice that Noelle is genuinely awesome and she quickly catapults to become the base of Carl's unhealthy obsession with her, and he desperately sells his prized eyeball just so he can afford the reveral potion (and he didn't need it anyway because Noelle had just transferred across town). Later episodes make her Carl's love interest and she acquires telekinetic powers. During the finale, while many characters suspect foul play behind the sabotage of Lois and Dr. Dave's wedding and try to find out what's going on, Noelle is the only one that knows the truth and reveals it to everyone at the end.

* ToxicFriendInfluence - A lot of Ginger's problems seem to stem from Dodie giving really awful advice; perhaps the most obvious example being the episode 'Next Question', when Dodie encourages Ginger to ask out a ''teacher'' she's crushing on. She's also incredibly self-centred, such as when she tries to break up Ginger and Darren, and in the very next episode she thinks Darren's party (organised by Ginger,) shouldn't go ahead because she's not allowed to go (never mind all the inconvenience it would cause to the other guests). Even Courtney, who is billed as the popular ditz, often proves herself to be a more supportive and caring friend to Ginger than Dodie.

* {{Complete Monster}} - Miranda Killgallen. She is a mean, sociopathic {{Alpha Bitch}} that only cares about climbing the social ladder and embarrassing others.

There's the episode "Hello Stranger" where Ginger reads a poem to her dad [[spoiler: who never showed up.]] Then there was the episode "And she was gone" where Ginger wrote a poem that seemed incredibly sad and unintentionally sounded like suicide.

* WarpedAesop - The whole "Ginger's mother not letting her shave her legs" thing is the most {{egregious}} example, but there are others.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome - Macie, you ''are'' the little seal girl.
* CrowningMomentOfFunny - Lois sees a report on an escaped lunatic on the news and yells out "Ha! Put that in a Velour jogging suit and you got Joanne Bishop!"
** From that same episode, Carl filming his horror movie with Lois at the end.
* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming - As Ginger recovers from appendicitis Carl thanks Dr. Dave (Ginger's surgeon and the kids stepfather to be) and when told he should go into the room to be with his family (his mother, sister, and biological father who he is not fond of) Carl says he who prefer staying with Dave as the two watch from outside Carl reaches out and hold Dave's hand.
** In the same episode the conversion between Dave and Jonas is quite heart warming
** A strange example but in the episode "Wicked Game" Dodie and Macie conspire with Miranda and Mipsy to break up Ginger and Darren. When Courtney finds out, she immediately decides to help Ginger. It goes to show that for all her naivety and shallowness, Courtney really was one of the best friends Ginger ever had.
