* CriticalResearchFailure: A very dark and tragic example: in his review of ''Manga/ElfenLied'', Will is [[spoiler: incensed at Mayu's rape at the hands of her step-father and rants that this would never happen in real life. Even less that her mother would cover for the step-father and fail to protect Mayu from him.]] Unfortunately, both these scenarios are [[TearJerker all too real.]]

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Will used to rant about feminism quite freqently (and quite bizarrely seeing as he was always very quick to decry sexism in the shows he watched, i.e. make actual feminist critique himself), which put off a lot of viewers. Fortunately, post channel restructuring, he seems to have realised this and stopped doing it.

* BaseBreaker: Surprisingly enough, Atlas ''isn't'' this. While most fans (and Will in-universe) were distraught by Fox's departure (or in the show's case, disappearance), Altas provides the same style of sarcasm and snarkiness that Fox was known for. Also helped that his more {{Adorkable}} personality clashes with Will's so well.

** [[spoiler: Atlas snapping at Will in the end of the ''Gilgamesh'' review. Seeing the usually {{Adorkable}} Atlas become so angry and give Will a (rightfully so) TheReasonYouSuckSpeech over how he's been trying to help Will and Will only keeps throwing him aside and treating him like crap is pretty heart breaking and a bit disturbing, seeing [[BewareTheNiceOnes Atlas become furious and sick]] of Will's behavior. Does go into CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming mode however when Will realizes he and Atlas are connected to the Keys and begins to back off]].

The last two parts of the review are pretty distressing to see Will broken and sad over [[spoiler: his struggle to summon Mayhem, which probably he sees as a connection to finding Fox]].
