* StrangledByTheRedString: The [[spoiler:Cooper/Mandy]] at the end came from where?! She only used him to get close to the Nerd and he accused her of being a DoubleAgent and left her to possibly die, romance was not in the movie.

* HarsherInHindsight: The whole "nerds before birds" thing is a bit harder to watch given the "fake geek girl" controversy that popped up just before the film's release (note that the script was done several years earlier).

* BileFascination: The Nerd explains that the reason he reviews terrible games is to keep people from playing them and ruining their lives. He is horrified to learn that his harsh criticisms usually ''entice'' people into playing them.

* SpecialEffectsFailure: One pretty bad special effect occurs when The Nerd, Cooper, and Mandy try to cross [[ItMakesSenseInContext a stream of lava]], that is obviously CGI, and the actress playing Mandy actually ''steps in the lava a few steps'' before jumping on the platform! Other examples are deliberate to invoke laughs, such as the toy models for the van, and tank.
