* MemeticBadass: In a unique case, Andre is often treated as such not in terms of his abilities, but of his ''size.'' Look up any photo of Andre on the internet, and chances are someone has jokingly claimed that it depicts something that makes him seem even bigger than he actually is (for example, claiming a photo of him next to a child is actually him standing next to a grown man.)

** Just look at any video or photo of him once he began wearing the black singlet, it's clear just by looking at his waistline he's wearing a back brace trying desperatly to support his spine, judging by how his waistline is pushed in. It's a band-aid at most, back supports aren't designed for people of Andre's size, they just can't contain that kind of bulk, so Andre had to keep working and living with half-measures.

* WhatAnIdiot: Regarding the famous story of André scaring off some guys hassling him in a bar... one must wonder what sort of thought process led those geniuses to think hassling a 7'4" 516 pound wrestler would end well. Then again, it was in a bar. [[AlcoholInducedIdiocy Common sense isn't very common in many bars]].

** One actually lampshaded. During a 1981 match against Wrestling/KillerKhan at the Philadelphia Spectrum, announcer Kal Rudman remarked that the beating that Andre was delivering to Khan (in retaliation for trying to take him out months earlier) was noting short of "a nightmare."

Phrasing; apologies for serial tweaking

** In retrospect, watching many of André's later matches in the late '80s. His match against Wrestling/HulkHogan (in which he won his first and only WWF title) in 1988 was especially painful. At that point, he could barely move and could only manage a small handful of offensive moves, limited to punches and one or two bodyslams. At the time, audiences would have seen him as a typical slow and plodding big man, but with the knowledge of his medical condition now well known, it's easy (and heartbreaking) to see the pain that he goes through while performing.

* [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Crowning Moment of Funny]]: Wrestling/BobbyHeenan recalls a story during the feud between André and the Wrestling/UltimateWarrior. The two had a spot where Warrior would clothesline André into the ropes so that his arms would get trapped (a spot André loved doing), but Warrior kept hitting André too hard. After a couple nights of putting up with this, André got fed up. When the spot came the next night, André just stuck out his fist and let Warrior smack into it at full steam. After that, Warrior learned not to mess around with André The Giant.
-->'''Bobby Heenan''': Then he says to me, "He will learn. He ''will'' learn."
** His [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MMJI0UvLE "Boxing Match"]] with Wrestling/GorillaMonsoon. This edited version doesn't do it justice. It's essential to see the whole thing.
** While living in France, André was able to drive a car by sticking his head out of the sunroof.
** Andre and Wrestling/PedroMorales vs. Wrestling/CaptainLouAlbano and Afa, August 23, 1980. Just from the description you can probably see it. Pedro plays RickyMorton as the heels do everything in their power to keep him from tagging in Andre. Of course, Andre gets tagged in and the fun begins. At one point Afa is lying on the mat and Andre is standing on his ''hair.'' Eventually, Albano takes the hint and bails. Pedro whips Afa into Andre's boot and pins him. You can't go wrong with a comedy match with actual psychology.
