Specifically that you can still lead a happy and normal life if you're molested as a child. However, the entire "[[CureYourGays homosexuality is a problem that must be cured, you're not really gay — just confused]]" shtick rather detracts from the overall positivity of any uplifting message intended.
* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: The author thought a story about [[NightmareFuel a child being molested]] by [[CreepyUncle his own uncle]] that advocates anti-homosexual and pro-[[CureYourGays conversion therapy]] propaganda would be appropriate to present as [[WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids a children's picture book]]. Case closed!

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: This is a children's storybook about a kid who, due to his parents constantly arguing, latches onto the sexual abuse from his uncle as his only source of affection. That alone is a hard sell, but it could have found a niche helping kids who deal with sexual abuse in RealLife... that is until it brings up the possibility of Alfie becoming gay from all this (something based on a long-discredited psychological theory), and treats it as a problem that must be taken care of by a few words with a counselor. You can probably imagine why the book was lambasted by everyone who has read it.

* MoralEventHorizon: Uncle Pete crossed the MEH when he molested Alfie for the first time.

* MemeticMolester: Uncle Pete. A possibly intentional example, since he molests Alfie a lot.
