* UnexpectedCharacter: [[spoiler:King Alteon]] makes a surprise appearance in one of the MultipleEndings of Adam's wedding event alongside the Creator/ArtixEntertainment staff, having been brought from five years prior to said event to bare witness to his and Michelle's legendary wedding and pronounce them both "Game Maker and Wife" for their respective preacher.

* ThatOneSidequest: The quest chains to unlock the Blinding Light of Destiny and the separate, Legends-only "Sepulchure's Doomknight Armour" are absolutely brutal. Both require copious grinding to obtain ''over three million spirit orbs each'' (though this number assumes that the player doesn't find any Auras needed to make the equipment, which would require several thousand orbs each to make) which drop in increments of 5, 10, 15, and 20 from quests that require 25 or 40 of other drops from undead, [[LuckBasedMission metal which is a random drop from a daily quest]], and high amounts of Auras that can only be obtained through a random drop which requires a separate weapon that requires the above materials to make. [[UpToEleven It takes so much grinding that Artix himself estimated that either item would take players roughly SIX MONTHS of farming to obtain, and neither chain overlaps, so you're looking at a YEAR to obtain both pieces.]] And to top it off, the armour [[AndYourRewardIsClothes is strictly]] {{cosmetic|Award}} and the [=BLoD=]'s only practical advantage over any other is a 51% damage buff against Undead, [[BraggingRightsReward who you've killed tens of thousands of on the way to making it and were probably enough to get you to the level cap]].

** Getting the Necrotic Sword of Doom can be a pain as well, as it requires plenty of quest completions and most of these quests are plenty difficult, and some even require certain conditions to be met like having Rank 10 Evil and the Necromancer class. And to top it off, one of the quests even requires Sepulchure's [=DoomKnight=] Armor from one of the above {{That One Sidequest}}s in your inventory.

** There is also the matter of the last two chaos lords [[spoiler:with King Alteon as the 12th lord of chaos and the Hero as the 13th Lord and considering Drakath says that he saves both King Alteon and the Hero for last. Which can bring a hint after the former become the 12th lord.]]

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: You could show sympathy for the Earth General Nevanna when you learn that, in the past, she was originally a peacekeeper who protected Brightoak Grove and, most recently, Rivensylth's egg until she was attacked, knocked out, captured, and twisted by [[spoiler:the Queen of Monsters]] into her loyal killing machine.

** After December 2015 and February 2017, we have the Archfiend Doomlord and Void Highlord, the most difficult armor and class in the entire game respectively.

It helps that these two avoid [[AndYourRewardIsClothes being solely cosmetic]] (the entire AFDL set gives 15% damage boost and 25% boost to each rep, gold, exp, and class points while VHL can solo most if not all of [[ThatOneBoss the most difficult bosses in the game]])

-->'''Galanoth''': [[spoiler:(after completing the "Follow the Trail" quest) [[ThisCannotBe I can't believe it]] - this dragon was so greedy that it was actually killing its own kind for their treasure! That's a kind of evil that even other dragons can't achieve. Still I am relieved that Goregold turned out to be the culprit, rather than one of the members of our Order. That would have been hard to accept, no matter who it was.]]
