If you look closer, you'll notice that Marcie is also alone and separated from the others on her side of the table, plus there's the FridgeLogic that the seating arrangements were voluntary, so Franklin may well have chosen to sit alone (there aren't any other chairs on that side of the table).

It's been noted that this harkens back to the then-recently-abolished "Jim Crow" segregation laws. * FridgeHorror: Why did Peppermint Patty get angry about not having a traditional dinner? Since it was just her and her dad, and depending on his own cooking ability, she may never have had one! Thus, when wanting to share Thanksgiving dinner with Charlie Brown's family, she got a bit upset because those hopes were dashed and didn't know how to react.

* StockParodyJokes: Woodstock being a cannibal because he ate a turkey dinner with Snoopy. It should be noted that just because turkeys are birds like Woodstock doesn't make him a cannibal. In fact, his type is apparently no more closely related to turkeys than humans are to cows.

* FridgeBrilliance: From a {{Doylist}} perspective, Peppermint Patty makes a better "antagonist" than Lucy. For one, it's easier to believe Marcie shaming Patty than ''anyone'', especially Linus, shaming Lucy. In addition, Peppermint Patty is enough of an outsider to believably not to have a proper Thanksgiving; it's already established that Linus and Lucy have a nuclear family, whereas Patty comes from a single-parent home.

* SeasonalRot: Though this one isn't disliked by fans and still has a decent reception, most consider it a step down in quality from the 1960s ''Peanuts'' specials. Being sandwiched between the ''very'' well-regarded [[WesternAnimation/ItsTheGreatPumpkinCharlieBrown Halloween]] and [[WesternAnimation/ACharlieBrownChristmas Christmas]] every year certainly doesn't help.

* IdiotPlot: Even if there's only one real idiot (Peppermint Patty), she pretty much sets the plot in motion by inviting herself and her friends to Charlie Brown's place for Thanksgiving dinner without giving him a chance to talk. Charlie Brown could somewhat qualify, in that he's afraid to call back (or even have someone else call back, considering Linus is in direct proximity) and try to explain to Peppermint Patty why they can't come over. Then again he also explains to Linus that, "you can't explain anything to Peppermint Patty, because you never get to say anything!"
