Also, the best-remembered parts of her "Sable Unleashed" video was the workout scenes. * DefeatByModesty: It's how she lost the first ever Evening Gown match. Inverted with how she lost the Women's Championship. She defeated Debra in an evening gown match but Commissioner Wrestling/ShawnMichaels stepped in and stated that in his opinion the woman who had lost her dress was the real winner and awarded the title to Debra. This would be her last TV appearance until 2003. This was also what is known as a [[Wrestling/DustyRhodes "Dusty Finish."]]
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After Wrestling/TorrieWilson 'defeated' her in a bikini contest, Torrie planted a kiss on Sable to show there were no hard feelings. Indeed they didn't show any ill-will towards each other for a while.
* DomesticAbuse: WWE, never one to pass up a storyline, turned Marc Mero into a hateful, {{henpecked husband}}, a move which culminated with the absolute atomization of any career that it could be said Mero had. During his heel run in late 1997, he berated her constantly and looked to be on the verge of hitting her. She once took off her sunglasses and there was a bruise under one of her eyes, which was explained away as her having been [[CutHimselfShaving kicked by her horse]].
* DrunkWithPower: By 1998, it was evident that ''[[Wrestling/WCWMondayNitro Nitro]]'' fans were switching over to ''[[Wrestling/WWERaw Raw]]'' to see Sable, and once she started getting ''Playboy'' offers, Vince began giving her preferential treatment. Sable’s attitude changed almost immediately, and she started treating the other Divas as employees rather than equals. Next thing, Luna was told by management was that if did anything to hurt Sable (really, her cosmetic surgery), she’d be fired. Sable “had the world by the nuts” at that point, although [[Wrestling/DavidHeath Gangrel]] points out “she squeezed them too hard” and that Vince found people more amicable to lead the division.

* FaceHeelTurn: After her issue of ''Playboy''[='s=] sales skyrocketed, she "went Hollywood" and became the Sherman tank of primadonnas. Raised to HoistByHisOwnPetard, since, in the all-Divas October 2003 issue of ''RAW Magazine'', she explained that the turn was a defense mechanism for her against problems she'd been having with certain people backstage, and it backfired on her.

* InformedAbility: See FauxActionGirl above. She had no wrestling training but the commentators would talk her abilities up. This was subverted in her second run with the company where she was with the {{Fanservice}} girls on Smackdown - almost to the point of being inverted. She was presented entirely as a manipulative seductress, commentators rarely mentioning that she was a former Women's Champion.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Ever seen ''Film/{{Heathers}}''? That was more or less an accurate description of the Sable character. Her ''Playboy'' cover went to her head in storyline and she didn't care that her fan Tori was being attacked by Luna. She just continued to wave and blow kisses to her fans and then turned on Tori for not being able to "get the job done".
* KickChick: She used a lot of kicks in her first run with the company. The crowd went wild when she gave Goldust a kick in the ring at ''Wrestle Mania''.
* KickTheDog: Joined Vince [=McMahon=] in bullying Zach Gowen (the wrestler with only one leg) in the summer of 2003 - and unlike Vince, never received a comeuppance for it unless you count Stephanie attacking her in a parking garage and ripping her shirt off and exposing both her breasts on national TV.(they were blocked by a CensorBox).

* [[HoYay Les Yay]]: It was subtext in her feud with Tori, and [[InvokedTrope overt]] when she came back in 2003 to feud with Torrie Wilson.

* NotInTheFace: As a reminder that she was, at heart, a ring girl and not a wrestler, Vince [=McMahon=] issued a strict edict telling people (essentially) not to touch the merchandise. The hotheaded Luna [[TalkToTheFist broke this rule]] a few too many times backstage, leading to her dismissal. As a heel, Sable would go mad if she were attacked in the face.
* PowerStable: Replaced [[Wrestling/DonCallis the Jackyl]] as the leader of [[Wrestling/JohnTenta the]] [[Wrestling/{{Kurrgan}} Oddities]] following their face turn.

* ShaggyDogStory: Her feud with Tori. It comprised of Sable abusing and belittling her for weeks, leading to a ''Wrestle Mania'' match. Rather than ending with Tori defeating Sable for the title, Nicole Bass debuted and helped Sable win - and the feud was dropped straight away.

* SmallNameBigEgo: This was the basis for her heel turn. After her Playboy cover sold millions, fame went to Sable's head and she became an arrogant primadonna.

* SpyCatsuit: One of her trademarks. In fairness, she never wrestled in them.

* WeUsedToBeFriends: Surprisingly, Luna and Sable were pals back when she first joined the company. That all changed around ''[=WrestleMania 14=]'', at which point everyone found out that Vince was giving her the Women’s Title, which was what Luna had wanted forever.

* TheBusCameBack: Mero took a leave of absence after suing the WWF for millions, claiming that Wrestling/OwenHart and others had sexually harassed her and that everyone in the WWF was on drugs except her. WWF finally caved and rehired her (along with [[ShameIfSomethingHappened a nice promotion]]), confounding ''everyone'' in the IWC.

* ChristmasCake: Well, her husband Wrestling/BrockLesnar was called a Cake Eater before [[LikesOlderWomen that trope was renamed]], and she's the reason why.

* InformedAbility: Remember the Rosie O'Donnell impersonator who fought Creator/DonaldTrump on ''Raw''? She has more wrestling ability than Sable. Perhaps aware of this, [[Wrestling/JimRoss J.R.]] and [[Wrestling/JerryLawler Lawler]] ''fell over each other'' praising her athleticism, her beauty, her perfection. Wrestling/PaulHeyman couldn't have done a better job putting her over.

* SmallNameBigEgo: Showed signs of it when she first left the company in 1999. Basically Mero thought she was headed for Bigger Things and that WWE was lucky to have her. This was also the basis for her heel turn.

** Wrestling/EvaMarie, though not blonde, is also often compared to Sable, since she is also a FauxActionGirl who gets by mostly on Fanservice. Though like Maryse, Eva is also nicer in real life than Sable.
