In it, Rey Mysterio will team up with a fan named Oscar to fight against the forces of evil all led by the villain Uroboros.

* ParentsAsPeople: What his feud with his son Dominik ultimately portrays him as. Rey admits that Dominik's criticisms about him aren't unwarranted and that he wasn't the best father to his children, constantly prioritizing his career over them. However, he points out the reason for his ParentalNeglect was so he could give them a life he could only ever dream of, including fabulous wealth and a privileged name. In the end, despite whatever Dominik may believe or claim, Rey does love him, and it is ''only'' because of that love that he hasn't kicked his son's ass in a match yet. Adding to that, while he was willing to endure Dominik's verbal (and sometimes physical) abuse of him, he drew the line at Dominik flinging that abuse at his mother and sister as well. When Dominik finally crossed that line, Rey had enough and attacked his son, and then accepted his challenge for a match at ''[=WrestleMania=]''.

* HeroicBSOD: Ever since his own son Dominik betrayed Rey and joined the Judgement Day following his FaceHeelTurn, Rey has been in perpetual depression. It eventually reached a point where he attempted to '''quit WWE''', but Wrestling/TripleH managed to talk him out of it and convinced him a trade to ''[=SmackDown=]'' would be a better idea. Rey has been able to cope better since then, but ever since ''Wrestling/WrestleMania'' season started Dom has upped his attempts to provoke Rey into fighting him, which is only causing his father more distress.

* BreakupBreakOut: Rey Mysterio was once a member of the stables known as the No Limit Soldiers and then the Filthy Animals in his WCW days. Since then, Rey Rey has achieved the most success as a singles competitor in the U.S. Wrestling/EddieGuerrero would be a close second.

* CanonDiscontinuity: WWE does not acknowledge that Rey Mysterio lost his mask in WCW. '''Ever.''' This is more obvious on [=DVDs=], but made patently clear when, during a PPV match featuring Mysterio, the announcers said that ever since he started wrestling, he'd never taken the mask off. It helps that ''nobody'' wants to remember Rey's unmasked period in WCW. The only reason it happened in the first place is because Bischoff thought masked wrestlers weren't "marketable". Rey (and the WWE) would get the last laugh later on, as the Mexican Athletic Commission hated what Bischoff did enough to let the flagrant LoopholeAbuse in MaskedLuchador tradition slide (see the MaskedLuchador entry below), which the WWE would take advantage of and make millions and millions of dollars off of their line of top-selling Rey masks.

* AffectionateNickname: Vampiro sometimes referred to him as "Little Rey-Rey", particularly when talking about how far back the two of them go together. Johnny Mundo also referred to him as "Rey-Rey", though not so fondly.
* ArchEnemy: He's had many enemies over the years, but his archenemy would probably be either Wrestling/{{Psicosis}} or Eddie Guerrero. Eddie's nephew Wrestling/{{Chavo|GuerreroJr}} is also consistently a thorn in his side. In the latter part of his WWE career it was Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio.

* BashBrothers: WCW was going to set Rey Mysterio up with still-masked Wrestling/JuventudGuerrera, united against Wrestling/ChrisJericho, but the Juice got in trouble and the angle was killed.

* ActionDad: He has a son named Wrestling/{{Dominik|Mysterio}} and a daughter Aalyah. Dominik was involved in the Mysterio–Guerrero feud in 2005, and appeared in several later storylines with his father. Dominik started training as a wrestler in 2017, and in 2020 became physically involved in a feud between Rey and Seth Rollins (and Aalyah would get involved to an extent), leading up to a Dominik–Rollins match at ''[=SummerSlam=]''. More recently, Rey and Dominik won the [=SmackDown=] tag team belts at ''[=WrestleMania=] Backlash'' in 2021, followed the next year by Dominik turning heel and joining The Judgment Day stable.

* ArchEnemy: He's had many enemies over the years, but his arch enemy would probably be either Wrestling/{{Psicosis}} or Eddie Guerrero. In the latter part of his WWE career it was Wrestling/AlbertoDelRio.

** In 2020, he feuded with Rollins after Rollins injured his right eye.
** [[AntagonisticOffspring His son]] Wrestling/DominikMysterio ''wants'' to be this to him after Dominik's FaceHeelTurn, but Rey refuses to bite how much Dom baits him. It took Dominik insulting and disrespecting his own mother, Rey's ''wife'', in order to finally get Rey to strike him at all.

* BadassBoast: To Prince Puma when accepting Puma's invitation to a match at Ultima Lucha Dos.

* BashBrothers: WCW was going to set Rey Mysterio up with still-masked Juventud Guerrera, united against Chris Jericho, but the Juice got in trouble and the angle was killed.

** And is one to both El Dragón Azteca Jr and [[Wrestling/TrevorMann Prince Puma]]. Though [[spoiler:the former's desire for revenge against the one who killed his predecessor led him to abandon Rey's teachings]].

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Usually when Rey is in a PapaWolf mode, he's angry but he'll make sure to be calm about it. Brock Lesnar going after his son? Cue Rey attacking him ''with a steel pipe'' and even challenging Lesnar to a match at Survivor Series, going as far as to deliver chair shots as a statement.

* RelativeButton: Wanna make Rey pissed off at you? Then you can go one of two routes:

* BerserkButton:
** As shown in PapaWolf, his biggest button is anyone hurting his kids. CM Punk and ''Brock Lesnar'' have both learned this the hard way, the former towards his daughter and the latter towards his son.
** Insulting his wife is also another one. Rey -- who had been goaded by his own son to attack him -- doesn't lay a finger on Dominik until ''after'' Dom started trash-talking her.
