* ''Series/AllCreaturesGreatAndSmall'': James, particularly because whenever he's humiliated or insulted he's just too damn polite to make a fuss over it. His politeness gets him into trouble in other situations too, like when he just can't refuse that extra drink or that plate of pigs fat that's obviously going to have him retching in the bushes later. Poor James.

For years she is left alone on Lothal embittered and isolated. Then Ahsoka arrives offering her a chance to find Ezra, [[spoiler:the only family she feels she has left]]. [[YankTheDogsChain Only for Shin to show up and steal the map after she figures out how to unlock it]]. * ''Series/{{Riverdale}}''
** Betty Cooper has low self-esteem and an emotionally abusive mother, her sister suffered a nervous breakdown and is currently in a group home, and she seems to be struggling with mental issues herself. Add in her angst over Archie not liking her the way she likes him and the bullying she gets from Cheryl, including the comments she keeps making about her sister Polly, Betty is far from okay.
** Jughead Jones, at the start of the show, has lost most of his friends after falling out with Archie (with it implied Archie said some pretty mean things to him), leaving him a lonely introvert bullied by Reggie. While things fortunately get better when he and Archie repair their relationship and he starts hanging out with Betty again, it's eventually revealed that [[spoiler:he's been homeless for an indeterminate period of time and when the drive-in theater he was staying in closed he started living in a cupboard under the stairs at the high school. His father is an unemployed alcoholic and gang member who has been and in out of jail, and his mom and little sister left. Then, Sheriff Keller accuses him of being Jason's killer.]] And it gets worse after his father is arrested.
** Polly Cooper, Betty's sister. She was forced by her parents to go to a youth home/convent because of what Alice and Hal insist was a severe mental breakdown, her parents keep her beloved sister away from her by saying Betty doesn't want to see her (and keeping Betty in the dark as to where Polly is), her boyfriend is dead - a fact her parents kept from her, and she's [[spoiler:pregnant with Jason Blossom's child.]] Both Polly and Betty seem to be on the receiving ends of some major gaslighting. [[spoiler:And to top it off, she has it abruptly sprung on her that she and Jason were actually blood relatives, to which she understandably looks like she's about to throw up while completely unnoticed by either family due to the massive argument they're having.]]
** Kevin Keller, as of Season 2, [[spoiler:reveals that he's been emotionally lost ever since Joaquin left town and Moose is stringing him along, even going so far as to cruise random men while in the woods in a bid to find some kind of companionship. When Betty tries to ask him to quit it out of concern for his safety (both due to the dangers of anonymous sex ''and'' because of The Black Hood prowling around and murdering people in that area), he instead calls her out and reveals that, inwardly, he's a lonely gay teenager in a small town, and that she can't possibly relate to his problems due to her own sexuality. He also calls her out for always asking his advice regarding Archie, but never reciprocating the sentiment about ''his'' relationships. When Betty finally tells Sheriff Keller about what Kevin has been up to, he confronts Kevin, and the kid breaks down in his arms. Even further than that, Betty's well-meaning but misguided attempts to protect him have briefly ruined their friendship.]]
** Archie Andrews as of the end of Season 1 and throughout Season 2. [[spoiler: After seeing his father Fred being unexpectedly shot by the Black Hood, he began suffering from an obvious-but-untreated case of PTSD. As a result, he starts to emotionally spiral out of control and become a much angrier, aggressive and darker person, who no one save Veronica give any constructive support. After they take the Black Hood down, he's then roped into an apparent FBI sting that ends up being the Lodges' manipulative attempt to bring him into the fold to ensure their daughter's boyfriend can be trusted, which eventually results in damaging his relationships with everyone outside the Lodge family. And then he loses his father.]]
** Nana Rose Blossom, who might be the only ''completely decent'' living member of the family left, is a very under-stated example. Because of her lack of lucidity, inability to walk, and half-blindness, she was unable to protect her grandchildren from the abuse they suffered from Clifford and Penelope, with her initial attempt to help Jason and Polly only resulting in getting Jason killed. In season 2, [[spoiler:Penelope and 'Claudius' launch a plan to get her and Cheryl out of the way of their inheritance, meaning she's no longer safe in her own home or from her own son and daughter-in-law.]]

* ''Series/QueerAsFolk'': Ted Schmidt from the American version certainly qualifies as a woobie. From the very beginning of the series, he is shown to have very poor self-esteem. In episode 3, he fell into a drug-induced coma. He later got fired from his job in season 2. He lost his next job, almost went to prison, and got addicted to crystal meth in season 3. He hit rock bottom when he saw a video of himself getting gangbanged while he was out of it. This isn't even mentioning all the horrible experiences he had with trying to find a partner! The actor has even said that he fell into a depression while playing this character! Fortunately, things started going better for him in the end. I don't know how much more hardship I could stand to see the poor guy go through!

** Lottie. She has a [[LonelyRichKid lonely home life]] and is made to take antipsychotics[[note]]The show never specifies what her diagnosis is, but her medication is a BlandNameProduct equivalent to a real antipsychotic prescribed for schizophrenia.[[/note]] for hallucinations (which may be of supernatural origin instead of neurological). Once her medication runs out, her hallucinations return spooking her. She is aware of something ''wrong'' with the cabin where they are staying but [[TheCassandra the others don't take her seriously]], even after she hurts herself at the séance. Either they mock her or they treat her behavior as yet another inconvenience. Only Laura Lee treats her kindly in her own way, conducting a baptism after she asks her to help her connect with God. The first season finale dials this down some, in that it's probably hard for many to think of her this way anymore, given that she started a cult in the woods and has apparently kept it going into the present day.
** Taissa's son Sammy. He doesn't seem this way at first, but it quickly becomes clear that his bad and at times bizarre behavior is down to Taissa and the stress caused by her Senate campaign and other events. As all of that weren't enough, in "Flight of the Bumblebee," Taissa reveals to Shauna that the family dog, Biscuit, is missing, apparently because she left a gate open when she was {{sleepwalking}} and Sammy dotes on the dog. When Taissa returns home, she finds Sammy and her wife Simone at a table making lost dog posters. It later turns out that the dog is dead, his head cut off, possibly by Taissa during one of her sleepwalking episodes. Though he doesn't know this yet.
** Crystal. She’s just as ostracized as Misty, but unlike Misty, she isn’t manipulative, selfish or violent, just annoying. Otherwise she's just as kind as Laura Lee and she's rewarded with mean snipes by the other girls, especially Mari, leaving her with only Misty to be friends with. Unfortunately that doesn’t go well for her.
** Travis, considering he loses his dad in the plane crash, has been a victim of bullying at school and in the present is introduced having just hanged himself. He's also a victim of grey rape by [[spoiler: Jackie]][[note]]As he was under the influence of shrooms and retroactively decided he wouldn't have slept with her, it makes it non-consensual, but Jackie didn't know about the drugs and believed him to be consenting.[[/note]] and spends months worrying about his missing little brother (and thanks to Natalie, spends some of that time believing him to be dead). Season 2 elaborates that he and Natalie continued their unhealthy relationship throughout life, and Natalie herself feels that she ruined his life.
** In Season 2, Akilah finds a mouse in the pantry and turns him into a pet, naming him Nugget and making plans for their future. "It Chooses" reveals that [[spoiler:she's been carrying a dried-out carcass instead of an adorable live mouse. And for a disgusting second, she contemplates eating the carcass.]]
** Javi. No older than twelve or thirteen, and he has to deal with his father's death on top of the trauma that comes with the accident. He miraculously survives on his own in the wilderness, even [[spoiler: attempting to save Natalie from being hunted down and cannibalised by the other girls, and is then left to drown so that they can eat him]].
