* {{Couch Gag}}: This show, of all others, actually does not avoid this! During the opening credits, after it gets through the part with Bogus eating the ice cream, it will then segue into a different claymation vignette before being followed by another one after the first one has played out. And after the second vignette has played, it then cuts to Bogus doing his trademark dance, before the "Mr. Bogus" logo comes up at the end.
* CowardlyLion[=/=]LovableCoward: Bogus isn't exactly the bravest one around, but when the chips are down, he will do whatever he can to make everything right again.

'''--Characters--'''

'''Mr. Bogus''' (Voiced by {{Cam Clarke}}) -- The main character of the show, Mr. Bogus (or just simply known as Bogus) will very often find adventure, where he least expects it. He is the main source of the show's comic relief as he often gets himself into all kinds of comedic situations, much like he did in the original Claymation shorts. Despite the fact that he is rather clumsy in nearly every kind of situation, Bogus will nonetheless be there to fix the problem that he caused. He also has a younger cousin named Brattus, who often gets on his nerves. Bogus also loves to eat, as he is very often shown chowing down on any kind of food that he can get his hands on.

'''Brattus''' (Voiced by Russi Taylor) -- Bogus's bratty younger cousin. As indicated by his namesake, Brattus can be very bratty and unruly, much to Bogus's annoyance. The relationship between Bogus and Brattus is near similar to that of {{Garfield}} and Nermal, except the only difference is that while Garfield simply cannot stand Nermal just because he is so cute, Bogus appears to be slightly more tolerant of Brattus, even when he often tries Bogus's patience. Despite his mischievious tendencies, Brattus has often proven himself to be slightly more level-headed and competent than Bogus, when he gets into any kind of scrape.

'''Tommy Anybody''' (Voiced by Jeannie Elias) -- The young boy who Bogus lives with. Tommy is one of Bogus's good friends and often serves as the voice of reason to try and keep Bogus out of trouble.

'''Ratty''' -- Bogus's biggest enemy, a big and bad gray rat who will go out of his way to best Bogus or try to steal any kind of valuable treasures that he can get his dirty paws on (In a matter near similar to that of {{Daffy Duck}}). Aided by his mole sidekick, aptly named Mole, there is no doubt that Ratty gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "lowdown sneaky rat".

'''Mole''' (Voiced by Creator/PatFraley) -- Ratty's partner-in-crime, a dim-witted brown mole who is happy to do anything that Ratty tells him. It is noted that while Mole is just as villainous as Ratty is, he's not nearly as ruthless as Ratty.

'''Mr. Bogus''' was an animated Saturday morning series that aired in the US in 1991. It is based on a series of Belgian {{Claymation}}-animated shorts featuring the titular character. These shorts serve as tie-ins to commercial breaks or returns from commercial breaks.

The series followed the adventures and misadventures of the eponymous character, Bogus, a tiny yellow-skinned gremlin who lives in the house of Tommy Anybody, a young boy who lives in a suburban neighborhood. Besides his adventures in Tommy's house, Bogus also went on various adventures in his native homeland called Bogusland, in which he came from by use of a bathroom mirror. During these adventures, Bogus was also occasionally joined up by his bratty younger cousin, appropriately named Brattus. Throughout the series, Bogus is best known for his [[TheKlutz clumsiness]], his [[BigEater humongous appetite]], and his penchant for doing good deeds.

The series was created by ''Calico Entertainment'' and ''Zodiac Entertainment'', the same two companies that created ''WidgetTheWorldWatcher''.

----
!!This series provides examples of the following tropes:

* {{Adorkable}}: Bogus himself
* AndroclesLion: A claymation short had Bogus come across a lobster tied up in some ropes on the counter, so he cuts the ropes, allowing the lobster to escape. Unfortunately, when Bogus is about to leave, he winds up getting tangled up in the same ropes that he freed the lobster from. Fortunately for him, the lobster comes back and uses its pincers to free him from the ropes in return.
* {{Angrish}}: Bogus will very often indulge in this when really angry.
* BalloonBelly: Happened several times to Bogus, whenever he ate a lot.
* BigEater: Despite his diminutive size, Bogus can actually pack away foodstuffs that are bigger than he is.
* BrattyHalfPint: Brattus
* ButtMonkey: Bogus very often falls victim to this, despite being the main character of the show.
* CallARabbitASmeerp: Bogus very often ran afoul of living dust bunnies, which he called "Dirt Dudes".
* CheshireCatGrin: Bogus grinned this way a lot.
* ChestInsignia: The letter 'B' that Brattus has on the front of his shirt.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Bogus is a prime example of this trope, so it's pretty much unavoidable.
* CowardlyLion[=/=]LovableCoward: Bogus isn't exactly the bravest one around, but when the chips are down, he will do whatever he can to make everything right again.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Even in spite of his bungling, Bogus will use any kind of unorthodox method to solve a problem.
* DagwoodSandwich: Bogus dines on one of these in the episode "Bad Luck Bogus". However, in a rare example of the trope, Bogus actually eats the sandwich one layer at a time with a fork instead of the usual practice of devouring the entire sandwich in one bite. Considering that the contents of the entire sandwich itself are all bigger than Bogus, that's a pretty understandable matter entirely.
* DinnerDeformation: One claymation short had Bogus devour an entire banana, taking on its shape.
* DrippingDisturbance: Bogus was faced with the problem of a dripping faucet in another claymation short.
* {{Expy}}: Possibly of the Aardvark from ''TheAntAndTheAardvark''.
** Although, his yellow skin and his facial features make him look more like Grimm from the {{Mother Goose And Grimm}} TV series.
* TheFool: Who do you think?
* FourFingeredHands: Bogus, Brattus, and Baddus, along with every other denizen of Bogusland, have these.
* GravityIsAHarshMistress: This has happened very often to Bogus.
* GripingAboutGremlins: Averted hard with Bogus, played straight with his enemy, Baddus.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: A rare non-animal example as the only article of clothing that Bogus wears is a pair of blue pants.
* TheHyena: Bogus will occasionally laugh maniacally when giddy or otherwise embarrassed.
* {{Hypercompetent Sidekick}}: Brattus occasionally fills this role whenever he joins Bogus on his adventures.
* InformedSpecies: A rare non-animal example; given his yellow skin, Bogus does not look very much like an actual Gremlin, and neither does Brattus. However, Baddus, on the other hand...
* INeedToGoIronMyDog: One time, Bogus tried to back out of facing Baddus by insisting to Brattus that he had "lots of foodies to eat, a Bogus beauty sleep to take, and gotta wash hair", the last one to which Brattus incredulously replies, "[[LampshadeHanging What hair?]]"
* JackOfAllTrades: Bogus is a pretty versatile character.
* TheKlutz: This is often the bane of Bogus's life, due to his tiny size.
* LiteralMetaphor: One episode had Bogus literally turn into a chicken when teased by Brattus about being too afraid to face off against Baddus.
* MeaningfulName: Brattus. Also, Baddus.
* MouseWorld: The inside of Tommy's house, from Bogus's perspective.
* NiceGuy: Bogus again
* NobodyCallsMeChicken: Bogus tries to invoke this when Brattus teases him about being chicken, subverted when Bogus literally turns into a chicken and starts clucking like one.
* TheRenfield: Mole, to Ratty.
* ScreamsLikeALittleGirl: Bogus screamed this way almost all the time.
* StockSoundEffects: The series will very often use HannaBarbera sound effects, despite the fact that the show isn't created by the company itself.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Bogus very often referred to himself in the third person, calling himself 'Bogey' almost all the time. Brattus did this as well too.
* ThoseTwoBadGuys: Ratty the rat and [[ADogNamedDog Mole the mole]], Bogus's other two enemies.
* VerbalTic: Being that the show was created in the early 90s, Bogus often used words such as "mondo" as well as mispronouncing some words on occasion.
* XRaySparks: Happened to Bogus in the episode "The Bogus Invasion".
* YouDirtyRat: Ratty
* YouNoTakeCandle: Bogus almost always talked this way.
