Added DiffLines:

* LighterAndSofter: Downplayed. While the film is relatively much more kid friendly than the book it is based on in various aspects, going as far as cutting out a whole chunk of the story and making the ending much more bittersweet, it ''stil'' has some rather intense and adult moments that could easily fly over childrens' heads.

Badass Baritone has been disambiguated

* BadassBaritone: Joe has a deep, threatening voice that only makes him seem more dangerous. Then again, he's played by Grand Corps Malade.

An invoked trope is one that a character in-universe, not the creators, deliberately brings about.

* UncannyValley: Invoked, as the artstyle of the film is purposely very surreal. While the environments are absolutely breathtaking, the human designs themselves can land very deep in the valley. Near the beginning of the movie we see a sequence of baby Jack moving like clockwork while adjusting to his new heart that might make your skin crawl. Then there's the the circus performers: a small man with a huge head and a coat pulled up to his nose, what seems to be a face without limbs, a girl with a balloon for a head, and a man with a large head and a tiny body that plays a trumpet.

** "Flames With Glasses" is filled with sexual references. Jack telling Acacia about his desire to strip her clothes and molest and have sex with her, at the end of the song, ice cream grows on her breasts, thereby justifying his aim is groping her and licking her nipples. None of them are subtle at all.
** You can argue that Jack has some {{Yandere}} tendencies, like Joe, in his stalking of Acacia.
** Jack being caught sneaking into Acacia's dressing room/gypsy caravan. She actually sees him and grows her vines.
** George and the Siamese twins clearly have something going on.
** Jack meeting Jack the Ripper. Why else would there be a notorious murderer for any reason other than sneaking by the radar?
