** Loud Kiddington's ExpositoryThemeTune bears a striking resemblance to the theme tune of Bat Masterson.

** Toast's theme song is a parody of the theme to ''Series/TheManyLovesOfDobieGillis''.

** When a piece is about Miss Information, the intro is a parody of the TitleSequence of the show ''Bewitched''.

In "World War II", he's portrayed as a BigRedDevil and a supervillain commanding the other Axis leaders, who were also given supervillain makeovers to counter the Freedom League's superhero aesthetics. However, the episode [[HistoricalVillainDowngrade never goes into detail as to why Hitler was portrayed as Satan himself]] beyond the typical TakeOverTheWorld shtick, likely to avoid the family-unfriendly topic of [[UsefulNotes/TheHolocaust genocide]].

* HistoricalVillainUpgrade: Napoleon is run through a ringer in this one, to almost impossibly inaccurate levels.

** Much like ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' and ''{{WesternAnimation/Animaniacs}}'', this show once again pisses off the censors with as much radar-dodging crap as possible (some of which is pointed out by Lydia Karaoke). Added bonus for the fact that the censor character here is often treated like a ButtMonkey (read: ignored, injured, and overall defied).

* PoliticallyCorrectHistory: Very much so, to the point that it is cringeworthy. It reinforces the myths about the Middle Ages, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquistion, Mary Tudor and Catherine De Medici among other people, places and things.
** Histeria! was sued by the Catholic League for it's anti-Catholicism.

* HistoricalHeroUpgrade: The Protestant Reformation, the American, French, and Russian Revolutions are oversimplified. Similarly, Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trostky's negative traits and personal failures are usually ignored, with Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong being portrayed the "bad" Communists instead.

* SpiritualSuccessor: A decidedly DenserAndWackier version of ''WesternAnimation/ItEtaitUneFois l'homme''. Paradoxically, it may also be a SpiritualAntithesis due to the writing team's distinctly anti-French bias.

Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trostky's negative traits and personal failures are usually ignored as well with Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong being potrayed the "bad" Communists instead.

* AmericansHateTingle: Histeria! did very poorly in France and French speaking countries in general.
