* CoversAlwaysLie: The U.S. cover art makes the film look like a {{Mockbuster}} of FindingNemo. Even weirder, Creator/AlanRickman's name is placed above the title, but his character isn't even shown on the cover. This solitary name also makes it sound like Rickman is the lead role. Or the shark.

* CoversAlwaysLie: The U.S. cover art not only renames the film to ''A Fish Tale'', but has a really crappy 3-D render of the shark and the main characters. For extra stupidity, Creator/AlanRickman's name is placed above the title, but his character isn't even shown on the cover. This solitary name also makes it sound like Rickman is the lead role. * CouldHaveAvoidedThisPlot: The plot mostly happens because Fly throws Starfish!Stella out the window when Chuck tells him to find water so she won't dry out. Somehow, he forgets that there's a tank of saltwater in front of the window, which [=MacKrill=] was about to use earlier to test the potion on himself.

Fly didn't know it was Stella, but why he forgot about the tank is never explained.

* ProfessorGuineaPig: [=MacKrill=]'s demonstration of the fish potion involved him stepping into a fish tank, potion in hand, and asking for the results of whatever happens to him to be filmed on a video camera. Subverted in that he has to halt the experiment to fetch the antidote before he can use it on himself and leaves the fish potion out for someone else to grab it...

** A more subtle one, but when Joe drinks enough antidote to grow fingers, he also grows eyebrows and a hint of a human nose.

* UpliftedAnimal: Any fish exposed to the antidote gains human-like qualities including the ability of human speech and human intelligence. How human the fish becomes depends on how much antidote they're exposed to.
