* AmbiguouslyJewish: In the subtitles of Hitler's rant in "Scrap Happy Daffy", he refers to Daffy as a "Non Aryan Duck". This fits in with filmmaker Greg Ford's account that actor Mel Blanc confided that Daffy is supposed to sound "Jewish" as opposed to Sylvester's "Gentile" voice.

%%* HairTriggerTemper* HairTriggerTemper: One of Daffy's major failings is his tendency to fly off the handle at the slightest provocation.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: After his shift to a more directly JerkAss characterization, this became the primary source of Daffy's humor - his tendency to get himself injured through acts of impulsiveness, ego or straight-up stupidity. One perfect example is "The Super Snooper", where he repeatedly gets himself injured forcing the FemmeFatale to re-enact what he thinks she did to [[BlackWidow bump off her husband]]... only to finally give her a chance at the episode's end to tell him both that she's unmarried and that this is ''the wrong address''.

* NotDistractedByTheSexy: Half the humor of "The Super Snooper" is how Daffy refuses to pay attention to the FemmeFatale and her blatant flirting with him, up until she reveals he's at the wrong address. The other half of the humor is how he keeps getting himself injured.

* SerialSpouse: Daffy has been married to ''seven'' different female ducks throughout his various shorts, although of course NegativeContinuity is used to justify this. In this field, he's hands-down beaten his rival Bugs, who has never been shown as wed.

''Daffy Duck'' is a ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' character created by Creator/TexAvery (although Creator/BobClampett contributed to Daffy's personality) in 1937. He was the first of the new breed of "screwball" characters that emerged in the late 1930s to supplant traditional everyman characters, such as MickeyMouse and WesternAnimation/PorkyPig. Was originally [[ScrewySquirrel The Screwball]][=/=]{{Cloudcuckoolander}}, later {{Flanderized}} by Creator/ChuckJones (and Creator/FrizFreleng, even more so) into a {{Jerkass}} SmallNameBigEgo, most famously paired with WesternAnimation/BugsBunny as the OddCouple, but is also frequently set up against Porky Pig, who works as TheComicallySerious and DeadpanSnarker to Daffy's hijinks. In this incarnation, used either as a foil for Bugs or to parody action-adventure heroes. Meanwhile Robert [=McKimson=] [[CompositeCharacter combined the two interpretations]] and made Daffy into a LoveableRogue. Later also joined Sylvester on the hunt for SpeedyGonzales. Debut: [[WesternAnimation/PorkysDuckHunt "Porky's Duck Hunt"]] (1937), Tex Avery.

** In "His Bitter Half." Daffy may be greedy, but after marrying a shrewish woman and suffering torment from his stepson Wentworth, Daddy decides that no amount of money is worth being a HenpeckedHusband and walks out on the family without looking back.
