* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Selina Kyle's assistant Maven simply vanishes after two appearances.

* BatmanGambit: From the TropeNamer himself in "[[Recap/TheAdventuresOfBatmanAndRobinE17LockUp Lock-Up]]". When a trial for allegations of abuse to the inmates of Arkham Asylum by new head of security Lyle Bolton, none of the inmates brought in (Harley, Scarecrow, and The Ventriloquist/Scarface) seem to want to testify. Batman, who's attending as Bruce Wayne due to him appointing Bolton to the job in the first place, says that they should keep Bolton in charge for another year and a half. This leads to all of the inmates present to plead for him not to and exposes Bolton's crimes. Also in "[[Recap/TheNewBatmanAdventuresE21MadLove Mad Love]]" Batman counts on the Jokers "TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou" mentality to save him from[[spoiler:a death trap created by Harley Quinn.]]

* ArtEvolution: The "revamp" to ''The New Batman Adventures'' saw a more streamlined design applied to the character models in order to match ''WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries''.

* OffModel: Not strange for a series like this where multiple companies would be used, but most evident whenever {{Creator/Sunrise}} or Creator/{{AKOM}} animated an episode. Constant issues regarding this was what got both studios fired from the series.[[note]]The studios, in addition to the aforementioned AKOM and Sunrise included Creator/TMSEntertainment, Creator/SpectrumAnimation, Creator/JadeAnimation, Creator/KokoEnterprises, Creator/StudioJunio and Blue Pencil Animation; with assistance from Creator/MrBigCartoons, [=NOA=] Animation, and further uncredited support from Creator/TamaProductions, Creator/HongYing, Creator/NakamuraProductions, Creator/DASTCorparation, Creator/AnimeSpot, Creator/SunminAnimation, Creator/IshigakiProduction and Creator/StudioGhibli (the latter for TNBA only)[[/note]]
** One example of this ended up changing a character's design completely. Namely that of ComicBook/TheScarecrow- [[Creator/KokoEnterprises The animators]] of "[[Recap/BatmanTheAnimatedSeriesE3NothingToFear Nothing to Fear]]" changed his posture from hunched over to standing straight, a change carried over to the character's later appearances.

* FearIsNormal: This is a subtle but recurring {{Aesop}} throughout the fourth-season episode "Never Fear", as the Scarecrow's new fear-''removing'' toxin inflicts significantly more disturbing effects on Gotham than his usual tricks, even bringing Batman to the cusp of breaking ThouShaltNotKill. It's Robin, who remains unafflicted, who ultimately has to pull his mentor back from the brink.

* FreezeRay: Mr. Freeze.

** Arguably the second most popular immigrant would have to be Mister Freeze's reimagining as an AntiVillain with a tragic backstory rather than an [[AnIcePerson ice themed]] gimmicky one, having been adopted by the mainstream comics as well as the ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamSeries''.

''Batman: The Animated Series'' (or ''Batman: TAS''), which originally aired on the Creator/FoxKids block from 1992 to 1995, is one of the most popular and groundbreaking series in WesternAnimation. Towards the end, it was given a minor {{Retool}} into ''The Adventures of Batman & Robin'', which promoted the latter hero from recurring role to regular star. A more noticeable retool occurred in 1997, where a ChannelHop and an {{uncancel|ed}}lation order led to Creator/TheWB's ''[[TheNewAdventures The New Batman Adventures]]'' (also known as ''Batman: Gotham Knights''). This retool streamlined the character designs to better match those of ''WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries'' (which it aired alongside as ''The New Batman/Superman Adventures''), allowing for the inevitable {{Bat Family Crossover}}s.

* AmbiguousSituation: It's never made clear whether Arnold Wesker has multiple personalities and Scarface is one of them, if Scarface really is alive, or if Wesker is just faking being insane so people will sympathize with him, although the first seems the most likely.

* ComedicUnderwearExposure: ** WesternAnimation/{{Super|manTheAnimatedSeries}}girl gives one as well during the episode she and Batgirl team up.

** Batman and Poison Ivy's first encounter in [[Recap/BatmanTheAnimatedSeriesE5PrettyPoison "Pretty Poison"]] initially resembles this. Upon noticing Batman [[VineTentacles entangled]] by her jumbo monster flytrap Ivy opts to [[SlipIntoSomethingMoreComfortable put on]] her [[SexyBacklessOutfit racy costume]] before gigglingly revealing herself, peaking out from behind a try like some flirtatious wood nymph, asking why Bats would honor her with "a late night rendezvous." While discussing why Harvey Dent [[DisproportionateRetribution needed to pay]] she glides behind him to teasingly caress his shoulders with her index fingers. And finally, as if the FoeRomanticSubtext wasn't already thicker than oatmeal, Poison Ivy applies her [[DruggedLipstick tainted lipstick]] and passionately smooches Batman, in effect giving him a "goodnight kiss."

* CaptiveDate: In "Mad as a Hatter", Jervis Tetch tries to win his co-worker Alice's heart after her recent breakup. She is charmed by Jervis but mistakes his romantic overtures as platonic attempts to cheer her up and she later reconciles with her boyfriend. Jervis then uses his MindControl technology on her and takes her on a "date" at a Wonderland-themed amusement park.
