Spelling/grammar fix(es)

[[InNameOnly The show deviates from the games a lot]]. Mostly, it's a [[DenserAndWackier humorous series with abstract art style]], putting it in [[MoodWhiplash very stark contrast]] to the [[DarkerAndEdgier much darker and more plot-heavy]] series that aired right alongside it on Saturday mornings: ''[[WesternAnimation/SonicTheHedgehogSatAM Sonic the Hedgehog]]'', most often [[FanNickname known as]] ''Sonic [=SatAM=]''.[[note]]Ironically, the only reason that series existed was because [=DiC=] was pressured by ABC executives to come up with a replacement concept for a ''Sonic'' series. ''Adventures'' was [=DiC=]'s first idea for it, and they even made a workprint of a pilot episode for the network, who ultimately rejected it.[[/note]] It does feature occasional nods to the games, however, including a mini-arc based around a series of Chaos Emeralds, many of ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2'''s Zones recieving references, and multiple episodes which pay homage to the Tornado.

* MyRuleFuIsStrongerThanYours: In "Momma Robotnik Returns," Momma Robotnik exploits the fact that Sonic's a minor to adopt him and free her up to wreak havoc on Mobius. Sonic is saved when Robotnik, who was disowned beforehand, exploits another law that states no one who disowns a child may adopt another to annul his mother's takeover.

* SpottingTheThread: In the episode "Tails' New Home", Sonic and Tails meet an elderly fox couple who are apparently Tails' long-lost parents. Sonic allows Tails to stay with the couple, and while reminiscing on their first meeting, remembers that Tails is OnlyKnownByHisNickname, and on top of that, it's a nickname that Sonic gave him. If the couple really were Tails' parents, they would have called him "Miles". Sure enough, the 'parents' are actually some of Robotnik's robots in disguise.

* WilliamTelling: Sonic does this to one of Robotnik's robots. Getting up in RobinHood garb and balancing an apple on his head, Sonic tauntingly asks the robot (Called Dragon Breath in ''VideoGame/DoctorRobotniksMeanBeanMachine'') if he's ever heard of Myth/WilliamTell. Infuriated, Dragon Breath throws his spiked club at Sonic, but the hedgehog's super speeds allows him to dodge just in time, so that the only damage done is that apple is split in half... and the tree behind Sonic falls over onto Dragon Breath.
