** Rina watches a documentary about the survivors of the nuclear war in the Second Breaking. It's a clear shout out to ''FistOfTheNorthStar,'' with men punching each other at high speed.

* AstralProjection: how the wizard recruiter from [[http://dragondoctors.dhscomix.com/archives/comic/ch-9-page-19 Chapter 9: Page 19]] contacts Sarin.

** And Sarin, when angry, can slap an astral projection so hard that the person on the other end can feel it. That's right, SHE CAN SLAP YOUR SOUL!!!

Added DiffLines:

* ElixirOfLife: The Fountain of Youth was reverse-engineered to mass-produce rejuvenation potions, with a safety installed so that the furthest back one can be de-aged is to babyhood (the original fountain having no living thing within miles because of this loophole). The potion, detached from the Fountain, is not referred to as Elixir of Life but otherwise fits this trope to a T.

The comic is sometimes compared to ''TheWotch,'' due to its inexperienced artwork and recurring transformation theme, but its story, tone, and premise are decidedly different.

* KillAndReplace: [[spoiler: The Mayor]] reveals that she's actually [[spoiler: the succubus]] who's been doing this since the founding of the town of Tinto.

Added DiffLines:

* TheyJustDontGetIt: Cary's schemes to rebel against the demons never do any damage to them. On the contrary, since the demons of this world setting feed on pain and suffering, and breed in the subconscious of those who suffer, Cary's plans always wind up helping them instead. Unfortunately, since Cary is a SmugSnake who always assumes she's the smartest person in the room, she reacts ''violently'' to anyone who tries to point this out. Considering she can't be overpowered, she can't be subdued to be made to see reason either.

* SchizoTech: In the early strips, when it wasn't expected to be an ongoing series, it comes off as a pseudo-medieval fantasy world... but then they start making deliveries on motorcycles... and ''doing research on the Internet''. Now it's been dated to 2000 years (or more) in our future, and the technological trappings are harder to miss. [[spoiler: It turns out the Earth has went through 4 different major catastrophies, called "Breakings", that have reduced civilization to the dark ages each time -- the unveiling of Magic to the general public and the subsequent world war that followed, a NuclearWar, a global magical catastrophe, and most recently a dimensional collapse, causing multiple alternate realities to merge with Earth. Poorly.]]
