* ShipTease: It takes advantage of the widely popular Flippy x Flaky pairing. The two are very close during their interactions in the first two chapters, even outright stating Flippy had been living in Flaky's house for two weeks (with subtle implication of developing feelings) until the enemies closed in on his location and kidnapped him. Afterwards, the entire plot revolves around Flaky, with the help of some friends, [[DudeInDistress coming to save Flippy]].

* ArtEvolution: For a comic that started all the way from ''the late 2000s'' this is inevitable when you compare the first pages drawn ten years ago to the 2017 remake. The lineart is cleaner, color combinations are more vibrant and appealing, and panels are more streamlined and dynamic.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Even though Lifty and Shifty are working with the antagonist, they show more loyalty towards each other in spite of their sibling rivalry. Unlike the original where the latter would have had [[CainAndAbel no qualms over leaving his brother to die]], he shows a [[BigBrotherInstict protective streak]] towards Lifty ''big time'' even if Lifty doesn't appreciate his [[ToughLove methods]], though he makes it known he loves him too. It was initially published between 2008-2012 during the height of Happy Tree Friends' popularity, and was received positively by the fandom until the comic went on hiatus due to personal troubles preventing any further progress. ''Sweet Lullaby'' establishes its own lore by adding some magic and fantasy elements. It also features characters from HTF's ''Ka-Pow!'' series, most notably Tiger General and his tiger army serving as the story's main antagonists.
