The few that aren't mind-numbingly stupid are {{Insufferable Genius}}' who rub their intelligence in people's faces while never doing anything good with it. Heroes like Rick Bernstein are generally the universe' ChewToy, while evil-doers like Jeff are perpetually {{Karma Houdini}}s. Both the Under Realm and Human World are {{Crapsack World}}s, with corrupt and greedy leaders (Bigmouth and Bush respectively). However, the comic teaches that good things can come out of bad moments/people. The Proxies face challenges, but their strong relationship is a testament to the show's idealism. Slenderman and his family even manage to patch up their broken relationship in one episode.
