*GoodParents: Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion wait for their daughter to come home at the Palace entrance so they can ask about her day, and Neo Queen Serenity looks forward to celebrating her birthday with Chibi Usa at the Masquerade Ball. However, there are strong hints that they’re hiding sort of AwfulTruth from their daughter after Chibi Usa tells them she’s met someone who resembles Helios.
*InvisibleToNormals: Subverted, as Chibi Usa and Hotaru both immediately notice the striking similarity between Shou and Helios. However, while Chibi Usa initially dismisses the resemblance as a coincidence, Hotaru seems to think otherwise.
*MacabreMothMotif: Silver moths would appear whenever the enemy is close by, and could even be found on potential victims before she strikes.
*MacGuffin: The enemy seeks something called the Covenant. Initially no one has any idea what it is, where it is, or what it looks like. Later on in a flash back between [[spoiler: young Pluto and Queen Serenity]] it’s revealed that the Covenant is [[spoiler: the gift of life given to the Earth by Father Sun,]] but the sailor senshi still have no clue where it might be or what it looks like.
*MasqueradeBall: A special event to celebrate the Queen’s ascension, as well as hers and the Princess’ birthdays. Shou is keen to attend the ball [[spoiler: so he can get inside the Palace to try and find the girl he sees in his dream]].
*MeaningfulName: Shou Hinowa means “shinning sun”. Asako and Yuuko’s names mean “morning child” and “evening child”, respectively.
*{{Meido}}: Shou’s twin maids, Asako and Yuuko, [[spoiler: who are clearly based on the Maenads, the twin priestess of Elysion]].
*MementoMacGuffin: The Crystal Carillon is Chibi Usa’s memento from Helios. Interestingly, Shou identifies the sound the carillon makes as the same bell ringing sound he hears in his RecurringDreams.
*OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: Despite being Sailor Guardians, Chibi Usa, Hotaru, and the Sailor Quartet go about their days in Juuban Junior High School together as normal students.
*PaperThinDisguise: Chibi Usa goes to public school as a normal student, but nobody calls her out as the princess, even though they have the same distinctive hair style. This is lampshaded by Shou when he wonders if Chibi Usa is a fan of the royal family, and is copying the princess’ hair style.
*{{Pastiche}}: The artist’s style is very similar to Naoko Takeuchi’s, right down to the flowy hair.
*PrincelyYoungMan: Shou is the heir of Hinowa Gallery Group, an internationally renowned fine arts auction company, and is a polite, well-mannered young man.
*RapunzelHair: The enemy Chibi Usa and friends face has "very" long hair.
*RenaissanceMan: In addition to his extensive knowledge of art history (thanks to his family’s fine arts auction business) and running said family business on his own, Shou is fond of classical literature and prefers to spend his lunch break reading Virgil’s, "The Aenead".
*RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: As Neo Sailor Moon, Chibi Usa protects Crystal Tokyo and the Earth from threats. Also, her parents and the original Sailor Guardians work to find information on the new enemy after it attacks Shou’s gallery.
*SavingTheWorld: This appears to be the enemy’s motivation for coming to Earth, as she’s searching for the Covenant that will give her world a chance at life.
*SpellMyNameWithAnS: The Quartet’s civilian names are abbreviated and spelled based on their Japanese romanji pronunciation, such that Cere-Cere is “Sere”, Palla-Palla is “Para”, Jun-Jun is “Jun”, and Ves-Ves is “Besu”. The artist justifies the spelling based on the fact that in Japanese there are no “c”, “l”, or “v” sounds.
*StepfordSmiler: When an old friend of his parents inquires about the his chest pains and the implications of the strange dreams he had as a child, Shou, with a polite smile, assures them it was only a childhood illness that has now passed. It hasn’t.
*SupremeChef: The twin maids, Asako and Yuuko are this, judging by how enthusiastic the Quartet are about their food.
*TheStoic: Shou comes off as rather aloof when he declined a classmate’s invitation to join their school’s literature club. When asked by a friend, the classmate describes him as polite, but with a “faraway look in his eyes…like he’s lost in thought about something.”
