* AmbiguouslyBi: Love Savage seems to have no problems getting down and dirty with anyone regardless of gender, and is a member of the dating website Bicurious Bipeds Behind Bars (or Bi-Bi Bebar for short), but his sexuality is never officially specified - especially thanks to the name of the site specifically being bi''curious''. In an easter egg, his orientation is simply listed as “will try anything twice”. There is a chance that his status as a [[LivingAphrodisiac Living Aphrodisiac]] just gives him more sexual opportunities, though he does say he’s had some very deep conversations with the men and women on Bi-Bi Bebar.

* AntiHero: Roshambo and Love Savage are the “heroes” of our story, but far from good people. They’re crude, roguish, and don’t want to help anybody but themselves (and maybe eventually the baby). But nonetheless, we are expected to root for them as they embark on their strange journeys.

* BabyAsPayment: You couldn’t really call Roshambo the baby’s parent at this point in the story, but he does try to sell it in order to gain value from the accidental kidnapping and pay off the damages the Fistpuncher made to Hairbath’s shop.

* BadassFamily: Love Savage fantasizes about him, Roshambo, and the baby forming one after the baby is within their custody. Roshambo isn’t immediately warm to the idea, but eventually comes around.

* BondOneLiner / PreAsskickingOneLiner: Roshambo has a tendency of dropping a one-liner before, after, or during fights. Because his gauntlets are activated by words, he’ll often deliver his attacks in the form of a punny quip.

* BrainlessBeauty: While not being the sharpest tool in the shed, Love Savage’s natural beauty is an integral part of his character.

* BountyHunter: The Dimetrotron Brothers are a pair of bounty hunters, typically working independently but occasionally working with the Red Dots.
* BumblingSidekick: Roshambo views Love Savage as this, calling him a useless sidekick. While Love Savage is weak compared to Roshambo, he still goes against this perception multiple times, helping the Scoundrels out of sticky situations with surprisingly quick wit.

* CosmicEntity: Throughout the comic, the baby is shown to have some strange abilities, such as being able to blow up a zombie with its mind and make giant, magical spit bubbles. In the 5th issue, we learn why this is the case. [[spoiler: Apparently the baby is actually what’s known as a “baby universe”, a universe in its infancy that has not yet exploded into a whole galaxy, manifested in a form similar to that of a human baby. It was taken away from its galactic nursery, and had a collar placed on it to prevent it from exploding into its true self, for what the baby can only assume is to eventually turn it into a missile.]]
* TheDitz: Love Savage is notably more oblivious compared to the more straight-minded Roshambo.
* DumbBlonde: Love Savage has light, almost bleached looking hair, and is the least bright out of both of the Scoundrels. A bit downplayed, as he isn’t exactly stupid per se, just a bit oblivious when compared to Roshambo.

* CosmicEntity: Throughout CriminalFoundFamily: The Cosmic Scoundrels, for the middle portion of the comic, become this. Initially it’s just a fantasy of Love Savage, but it becomes solidified when Roshambo says they should escape The Fence with the baby is shown to have some strange abilities, such as being able to blow up “as a zombie with its mind family”.

* FearlessInfant: The baby never seems to show anything besides brief shock and concern throughout the story, notably not even crying once. [[spoiler: This might have something to do with it actually being a baby universe, seeming to mean its maturity is higher than the average infant.]]
* FromCamouflageToCriminal: [[spoiler: Roshambo is a former military general on his home planet, who was dishonorably discharged for throwing a war (which is essentially a sport, where he's from). Nowadays, he's a notorious space pirate.]]

* HairMetal: This is Love Savage’s whole theme, from the hair to the outfit to the copious amounts of action he gets. He’s mentioned aspects of a music career, such as saying certain things give him ideas for album covers and names, but it’s unclear how successful or existent this theoretical career might be.

* HeroicBuild: Roshambo’s broad stature makes him look a tad superhero-like, going very much against his actual status as a renowned space pirate and total asshole.

* HeterosexualLifePartners: While “heterosexual” is debatable for Love Savage, he and Roshambo are practically inseparable, despite their differences and occasional quarrels.

* LifeOfTheParty: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin As his name very obviously suggests,]] Party Steve is the epitome of this.
* LivingAphrodisiac: During Love Savage’s backstory in issue #4, it’s revealed that his bloodline is so thoroughly inbred that he’s actually somehow become naturally irresistible, secreting pheromones that can make anybody attracted to him. Apparently this can also simply be used to get people on his good side, but Love Savage much prefers to use it for sexual reasons. His blood can supposedly be used as an actual aphrodisiac, too.
* LivingMacGuffin: The baby, who needs to be protected by the Scoundrels, from primarily the Virtuous Sisterhood and Hairbath.

* NonIndicativeName: The Galactic Gauntlets aren’t actually gauntlets, thanks to only being on the wrists and not being gloves. An easter egg detailing their abilities says that the reason behind this misname is either because Roshambo doesn’t know what

''Cosmic Scoundrels'' is a 2014 webcomic (later turned into a physical series of comic books) created by Andy Suriano (''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack'', ''WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'') and Matt Chapman, one half of Creator/TheBrothersChaps (''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'', ''WebAnimation/TwoMoreEggs''). The comic started up on [[https://cosmicscoundrels.com/ its website]] in 2014, uploading what would be seen as the first 3 issues (plus a bit of the start of #4) at 69 pages, before halting in 2016 and eventually finishing off in 2017 with the rest of issue #4 and finally #5 after partnering with IDW Publishing, turning the comic physical.

According to the description on the official website, ''Cosmic Scoundrels'' is about the exploits of two intergalactic bachelors on the run from everyone. Roshambo and Love Savage are [[VenturousSmuggler partners i]][[AntiHero n crime]] who cruise the galaxy, going through one job after another and generally being complete assholes to everyone. Along the way, they end up [[AccidentalKidnapping accidentally kidnapping]] a baby after a cargo heist, and the adventure truly kicks into high-gear, with [[EveryoneChasingYou everyone in the galaxy suddenly seeming to want the baby or the Scoundrels themselves.]]

The series is currently supposedly over, with issue #5 ending on an uncertain [[ToBeContinued “to be continued…?”]] There have not been any signs of future updates, making it easy to assume we aren’t getting anything anytime soon.

----
!! ''Cosmic Scoundrels'' contains examples of:

* AccidentalKidnapping: The Scoundrels accidentally kidnapping a baby during a cargo heist is what ends up kicking off the whole plot. Love Savage is excited by this outcome and wants to keep it, while Roshambo wants to sell it to at least get some value out of the mistake.
* AnArmAndALeg: Hairbath loses his upper arms to Roshambo when the latter is saving the baby from him. Eventually leads to artificial replacements.
* AntiHero: Roshambo and Love Savage are the “heroes” of our story, but far from good people. They’re crude, roguish, and don’t want to help anybody but themselves (and maybe eventually the baby). But nonetheless, we are expected to root for them as they embark on their strange journeys.
* ArrangedMarriage: [[spoiler: Love Savage]] (or Prince Percevithorp Refractimon, as he was once known) was intended to be married to Duchess Ron Cargill as part of a peace and trade treaty between nations. Although he insisted at the time that the marriage was willing and that he truly loved the duchess, he still ended up abandoning her at the altar. Naturally, chaos ensued.
* AssholeVictim: Part of the reason why we can root for the Scoundrels despite them being… well, scoundrels, is that most of the people they harm and steal from aren’t much better than them.
* BackFromTheDead: The intergalactic death gods trying to get their gauntlets back from Roshambo bring back the real Tad and Jacob, who were put into eternal cryosleep by the Scoundrels, as zombies.
* BlackMarket: The Fence serves as a black market mall right outside of the fence to the mysterious “Empire”. It has all kinds of sketchy services, from child trafficking to drug dealing to “massage” places (wink).
* BookEnds: The final panel with the Scoundrels in #5 mirrors the cover of the first issue, with the key differences being [[spoiler: the Red Dots are replaced with Quintesstrion soldiers, Mrs. Billingsley is present, and Love Savage possesses one of the Galactic Gauntlets.]]
* BrainlessBeauty: While not being the sharpest tool in the shed, Love Savage’s natural beauty is an integral part of his character.
* BrainBleach: When Love Savage has Mrs. Billingsley show off some of his… certainly scandalous Bi-Bi Bebar photos in order to ward off the Virtuous Sisterhood, Roshambo is rightfully mortified.
--> '''Roshambo''': Gotta hand it to you, Savage. That was pretty damn genius. Mentally scarring, but genius.
* TheCameo: The Scoundrels make an appearance in ''WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' a handful of times: both of them being in one of Jupiter Jim’s window displays, and Roshambo being the example illustrations for Jupiter Jim’s Nerve Pinch Reverse Technique.
* EveryoneChasingYou: By issue #5, pretty much everybody you could think of (and even people you wouldn’t expect at all) are coming for one or both of the Scoundrels, the baby, or something else they just so happen to have.
* FasterThanLightTravel: The S.S. Fistpuncher is equipped with a warp function that serves as this.
* FromCamouflageToCriminal: [[spoiler: Roshambo is a former military general on his home planet, who was dishonorably discharged for throwing a war (which is essentially a sport, where he's from). Nowadays, he's a notorious space pirate.]]
* GenderReveal: Right before saying goodbye to the Scoundrels, [[spoiler: the baby reveals that it was actually a girl, despite being referred to as a boy for the whole story. Neither of the Scoundrels ever bothering to change it likely played into this confusion.]]
* HairMetal: This is Love Savage’s whole theme, from the hair to the outfit to the copious amounts of action he gets. He’s mentioned aspects of a music career, such as saying certain things give him ideas for album covers and names, but it’s unclear how successful or existent this theoretical career might be.
* HehHehYouSaidX: When Roshambo and Love Savage are returning to their ship in issue #1:
--> '''Roshambo''': Billingsley! Prepare to receive two! Coming in hot!\\
'''Love Savage''': Heh heh. You said ‘prepare to receive two’.\\
'''Roshambo''': Shut up and go limp.\\
'''Love Savage''': Heh heh. You said ‘go–’\\
'''Roshambo''': SHUT UP!!
* HeroicBuild: Roshambo’s broad stature makes him look a tad superhero-like, going very much against his actual status as a renowned space pirate and total asshole.
* HelicopterParents: Downplayed, Love Savage is said to be a “hovercopter parent” in an author’s note, but we don’t get to see much of this behavior in the actual comic besides rational protection of the baby from the evils of the universe.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: While “heterosexual” is debatable for Love Savage, he and Roshambo are practically inseparable, despite their differences and occasional quarrels.
* HyperspaceIsAScaryPlace: In this universe, hyperspace is an endless white void resulting from tearing the seams of reality that is apparently not the greatest to look into while warping, as Love Savage seems unhappy when Miss Bills asks him if he would like the baby to look out into it.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: [[ItMakesSenseInContext In another instance of Love Savage defeating an evil dedicated to religion with his own horniness,]] zombie Tad ends up being re-murdered with help from the improvised weapon of a Putremingo erotic massager (although an ad for it seems to show that it is intended to double as a murder weapon).
* MagicalAccessory: Roshambo’s “galactic gauntlets”, which are admittedly more like wristbands. They can shoot rock-paper-scissors related magic.
* MakeGamesNotWar: Played with with the planet of Quintesstria. Sporting events aren't replacements for warfare, warfare IS a sport to them.
* MistakenIdentity: Mrs. Billingsley thinks that Roshambo and Love Savage are the ship’s original owners, Jacob and Tad. They use this confusion to their advantage in order to not lose access to what they’ve now turned into the S.S. Fistpuncher.
* {{Multiboobage}}: The members of the Virtuous Sisterhood all have 3 pairs of breasts.
** An unnamed slug-like alien on Love Savage’s character page has two pairs.
* TheOldestProfession: Love Savage is said to be a former gigolo.
* PrettyBoy: Love Savage. He’s still visibly athletic, but more of a skinny type compared to the broad Roshambo, to the point where Roshambo at some point calls him scrawny.
** Roshambo has been incarcerated in the E-Z Max Convenience Prison, which has the slogan of “Where The Pretty Boys Go!”
* ReallyRoyaltyReveal: Issue #4 reveals that [[spoiler: Love Savage is a runaway prince, with his real name being Prince Percevithorp Refractimon of Prelaxagon.]]
* RebelPrince: [[spoiler: Love Savage is actually a prince on the run, abandoning his empire after being tempted into a more hardcore life by his cousin.]]
* RoyalInbreeding: The main goal of the Refractimon royalty is to have as many inbred babies as possible. Interestingly, this has somehow led to all offspring of the family effectively being [[LivingAphrodisiac Living Aphrodisiacs]]. According to an author’s note, the inscription on the Refractimon family crest reads “Massivus Inbredimus”, and the S’s are all dollar signs.
* RunawayBride: Runaway groom, in the case of the intended wedding between Prince Percevithorp and Duchess Ron, as Percevithorp - [[spoiler: soon to become Love Savage]] - abandons her at the altar upon learning he has the genetic capabilities to get into the pants of anybody he wants. Not that the duchess really seems to care.
* SexDrugsAndRockAndRoll: Love Savage is a male prostitute, is said to take a lot of drugs, and seems to desire a music career.
* STDImmunity: Averted with Love Savage, with him actually apparently having tons of space STDS. Funnily, he could be considered to have a whole other type of STD immunity, with his STDS effectively rendering him immune to zombie bites.
* {{Stripperific}}: Love Savage’s outfit is quite revealing, with his entire chest being exposed as well as his arms. A skull is modestly placed right on top of his crotch.
* TacticalRockPaperScissors: Literally, for Roshambo’s galactic gauntlets. He can use attacks based on rock, paper, and scissors, with rock usually being used for more explosive attacks, paper capable of producing concussive energy blasts, and scissors being able to slice most materials. Paper also has cutting abilities, depending on how convenient it is (it’s been lampshaded how this is kind of redundant).
* TeamMom: Mrs. Billingsley is an AI programmed to fill out this role, viewing Tad and Jacob (or eventually Love Savage and Roshambo pretending to be them) as her children. This even leads to her mistakenly thinking they’re minors.
* VagabondBuddies: Roshambo and Love Savage are two space pirates and fugitives who have no consistent home, staying within the S.S. Fistpuncher but never remaining in one place for long.
* VenturousSmuggler: Roshambo and Love Savage, with cargo heists being the basis of their whole lives.
* VomitIndiscretionShot: The final Dimetrotron Brother hunting down the Scoundrels, Trake, ends up killed by Love Savage vomiting Atmosphetamine all over him.
* WarHasNeverBeenSoMuchFun: On Quintesstria, also known as the “dandy planet”, war is treated like a colourful sporting event more than a devastating battle. Their tendency to wear bright and frilly outfits definitely adds to the fun.
* WouldHurtAChild: While not wanting to directly harm it, Roshambo initially refuses to go with Love Savage’s idea of keeping the baby, instead wanting to sell it on the black market to likely have its skin extracted. Hairbath also ends up wanting to put the baby to “private use”, which isn't put into detail, but certainly cannot be good.
