But, of course, all that was just a ridiculously circuitous ploy to pit Sonic against the [[EvilKnockoff Super Duper Metal Sonic]], an exact duplicate of our titular hero in every way, including his obnoxious personality and fondness for saying "bitch". Meanwhile [[CloudCuckoolander Old Man Owl]], charged with looking after Sonic's place while he's away invites all his old army buddies over for a night of excitement and debauchery.

** Episode 2: A parody of the opening from [[{{Twentyfour}} 24]], a line from MontyPython, and a brief cameo from Chris Thorndyke.
** Episode 3: Features a title, opening, inner-dialogue sequence, credits and stinger parodying those of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'', Sonic directly quoting ''SonicAdventure'' on multiple occasions, a few references to ''EarthBound'', the famous five-note tune from ''CloseEncountersOfTheThirdKind'', and, inexplicably, Sonic and Tails both making complete separate comments about going to Applebee's.

* SplitScreen: In the [[{{Twentyfour}} 24]] parody opening.

** Episode one has Robotnik apologizing to Knuckles for not being able to get him a scene in the episode, ending with Knuckles being removed from the script entirely which deletes him from reality. His understudy, Chris Throndyke, replaces him. Poorly.

** Big's Bass Bonanza is a reference the character's infamously boring gameplay in SonicAdventure.
** Very notable example in episode three, where Tails makes reference to having "stalked and driven that girl Sticks out of town", and how "she just wasn't funny." The creators ''really'' hate WesternAnimation/SonicBoom.

* TropeRiffic: To be expected from an AbridgedSeries.

* CerebusSyndrome: Episode 4 in particular, culminating in the ending which [[spoiler: blows up the world and hits the ResetButton, restarting at episode one except as a deconstruction of bad abridged series. The sequence is a mockery of lazy comedy, particularly singling out WesternAnimation/SonicBoom]].

* FighterLaunchingSequence: The Tornado runaway launch in the first episode is overly dramatic, especially with the catapult emitting [[KungFoley ridiculously over-the-top]] [[NeonGenesisEvangelion anime sound effects]].
