Sonic the Other Movie is Reputable Dubbing Pictures' first series, released in 2014 It is a four episode GagDub of Anime/SonicTheHedgehogTheMovie, created by [=KyoSo=] (going by "Smegerama" at the time). It was sponsored by Sonic Paradox, the community behind the popular WesternAnimation/SonicShorts. The Other Movie is an abridged series in name only, being nearly uncut with the original story intact and minimal fourth wall breakage. Instead, treating itself much like its own show and not simply a parody of something else, the humor focuses on the dysfunctional characters, their interaction and tons of (occasionally elaborate) visual gags.

Updated description

Sonic the Other Movie is a four episode abridged series of Anime/SonicTheHedgehogTheMovie created by Reputable Dubbing Pictures (released under the banner of Sonic Paradox, the team behind WesternAnimation/SonicShorts, and sharing some of their voice actors). In stark contrast to most to the norms of the abridged series format, Sonic the Other Movie cuts very little of its source material and closely follows the original story with the humor coming from character interaction and visual gags.

Narcissistic hero Sonic the Hedgehog and his incredibly resentful sidekick Tails the Fox, later joined by the totally radical Knuckles the Flying Mole-Person, learn from the surprisingly friendly President Robotnik of an impending nuclear disaster in the long-abandoned Scrap Brain Zone. But, of course, that was just a ploy to pit Sonic against the Super Duper Metal Sonic. Watching from the sidelines are Old Man Owl, who invites all his old army buddies over for a party at Sonic's place while he's away, the appallingly self-absorbed Former President and his daughter Tsundere Sarah, who is a CatGirl for some reason.

* AbnormalAmmo: Metal Robotnik's glue gun, which is placed in a rather unfortunate spot. It gets pixellated.
!!The overall abridged series features tropes such as:

* Angrish: Tails, moments before Sonic saves him and Old Man Owl from crashing into a mountain:
-->Tails: SON OF A HOLY SHSHHHSHSSSHSHSHSHSSHSABADAAAAH!

* BigShutUp: From Sonic, who up to that point been very quiet and reserved.
-->Sonic: Shut your freaking mouth, Tails!
* BlackComedy: Robotnik murders Metal Robotnik and fits him into a HumongousMecha.
* BlatantLies: Subverted when Robotnik's claim that he has a giant, metal brother turns out to be true.
* BloodyHilarious: Sarah violently smashes a lead pipe into Robotnik's skull. Cue HighPressureBlood.
* BondOneLiner: Metal Sonic, after thoroughly kicking the crap out of his meaty counterpart.
-->Metal: How do you like them apples [beat] bitch?
* BrickJoke: The amazingly slow asthmatic turtle badnik shows up again about ten minutes after he launches.

* BreakingTheFourthWall: Robotnik and Sarah play SonicTheHedgehog2 together.
** Tails directly addresses the audience at the end of episode 2.
--> Tails: See y'all next week! Same me time, same me channel!

* CallToAdventure: What Robotnik does to Sonic and Tails. Sonic is less than pleased about this.

* CatchAFallingStar: Knuckles catches Sarah after she falls from Robotnik's aircraft.
* CelebrityEndorsement: Inverted. The first episode opening with Creator/SteveBlum telling us to watch something else.

* DroppedABridgeOnHim: When Old Man Owl's plane explodes, presumably killing everyone, causes the credits to start rolling. Subverted when we almost immediately cut back to the three jumping clear of the explosion, unhurt.
* DullSurprise: Sonic loses interest in the bizarre geography of the Layer of Darkness incredibly quickly.
* DysfunctionJunction: The certifiably crazy Old Man Owl is ironically one of Makes sense given how much the sanest characters.writer clearly loves Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion.

* EvilVersusEvil: The "good" former President actually sounds worse than Robotnik.

* FighterLaunchingSequence: The Tornado runaway launch in the first episode is overly dramatic, especially with the catapult emitting ridiculously over-the-top anime sound effects.
* FreezeFrameBonus: The series loves this trope.
** Episode 1 features a single frame that reads "I could have edited this frame out but instead I've opted to make it the most disappointing easter egg ever."
** Episode 3 features an opening sequence absolutely full of freeze frame gags, such as Old Man Owl's full name: Senator Oldward Jezebel Owl. Later on, we meet "Melty the Blob", named in a caption over a bizarre animation smear of Tails that lasts for two or three frames.
** Episode 4 features a caption over an animation smear of Knuckles that makes his fists look like a rocket ship, and "Melty the Blob 2" over a smear of Tails moments later.
* GadgeteerGenius: Tails makes use of these skills in the third episode to reconfigure the navigator.

* OmnicidalManiac: Referenced by Sonic, who claims Owl's driving is bad enough to make him this.

* OriginalFlavor: The plot of the source material is kept largely intact, with much of the humor coming from the now incredibly dysfunctional characters' attempts to comply with it.
