Firstly, all fruits are also vegetables, as vegetables are defined as "parts of plants that are consumed by humans or other animals as food" (Wikipedia, vegetable). Biologically, fruit are a plant's genitals. They are therefore part of a plant, and therefore vegetables.
Also, this answer presupposes that the biological classification of a plant is the only defining feature, which I doubt. "Vegetable" refers to the edibility, and so I assume the question concerns the culinary qualities of each, or is at least asking from a culinary approach. From a culinary point of view (which is at least as valid as the biological point of view), a tomato IS a vegetable, as is an eggplant. Rhubarb is an example of a biological vegetable eaten as a culinary fruit.
Also, what defines "fruit" and "vegetable" culinarily? If it is that it is eaten in either sweet or savoury dishes, what about pork and appelmoes, or pumpkin pie if you're American? Or watermelon salad? Apples, pumpkins, and watermelon are all culinarily fruits.

[[WMG: Khalil is a time traveler.]]
First off, in ''WesternAnimation/JonahAVeggieTalesMovie'', he sells what appears to be modern rugs as well as plush toys, the latter of which weren't invented until the 1800s. Second, said movie ends with [[spoiler: Khalil appearing as a tow truck driver and Twippo seeming to know him]]. And third, in "Pistachio: The Little Boy That Woodn't", there's a scene where he directly references the events of ''Jonah''.

* There are two things wrong with this.

*** Well in that case, how would Jesus work? He can't take the place of, or atone for, the vegetables; according to the Heidelberg Catechism, the in-universe Jesus would have to be "a true [vegetable] because the justice of God requires that the same human nature which has sinned should pay for sin. He must be a righteous [vegetable] because one who himself is a sinner he cannot pay for others" (Q&A 16). He also has to be God, since "no mere creature can bear the weight of God’s eternal wrath against sin and deliver others from it" (Q&A 14). Therefore any attempt to reconcile Christ's human (vegetable) nature with his divine would be blasphemous, in which case the vegetables cannot be saved, their faith is futile, and they are their sins (1 Cor 15:17)

* Big Ideas was experiencing delays with ''The Ballad of Little Joe'', and had to get SOMETHING out for the summer. So they slapped together a bunch of Maya assets, an employee's camera roll, songs for an unreleased album, and some unrelated shorts as a stopgap measure until ''Little Joe'' was ready for release. Making this theory more plausible was the fact that the script for ''Little Joe'' was completed almost a year before the finished product was released.

Nebby K. Nezzer's brother is seen in the "Toy That Saved Christmas", and Mr. Lunt serves as the henchman to both. Since the show's Biblical history seems to be identical (apart from vegetable characters), that would require Mr. Lunt and the Nezzers to be a couple thousand years old.

* The episode was just the animators and voice actors screwing around in Maya to create the most incoherent episode ever, either to showcase their talents, or because the episode was originally meant to be an AshcanCopy that was only going to be shown to the production staff, but when ''Little Joe'' encountered delays, Big Idea had no choice but to release the episode.

[[WMG: In the House is a prequel series.]]

I haven't seen all the episodes yet, but most characters seem more immature than they do in the original series, and there's no mention of them making a TV show where human kids send in questions. It makes sense that they learn several lessons "in the house" and then decide to create a show to share those messages with the wider world.

Now, before you bring up Lovey, let me just say that you cannot possibly look at that thing at tell me it's not a tranny. The big, dramatic eyelashes, the beauty mark, the outfits, that my friends is a ''drag queen.'' The reason we don't see her anymore? He was feeling brought down about being on a Christian kids show and decided that he didn't want to be involved in the films anymore.

**** Not the ones that are so subtle that nearly the entire audience takes the message at face value, and misses the supposed satire. If we pretend that Veggie Tales really is a parody, though (which it isn't), then it's a pretty counterproductive one, as all it's succeeded in doing is to spread The Gospel to a whole new generation of kids. !!Every movie will cast an unexpected Veggie in the spotlight.
In ''Jonah'' they cast Archibald Asparagus as the main character instead of Larry or someone else who usually gets cast as a protagonist. Same deal with ''The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything'' where Pa Grape gets to be the main character. Any further movie they will continue with this trend. One of these days we'll even see Scallion #1 in the spotlight.
