Gabriel's agenda behind everything is ''still'' unknown outside of the vague idea he wants to subject humanity to genocide. However, there ''is'' a hint as to what that plan is, and it will be achieved by reusing one biblical element: The Ark.

During the viewing of "Exhibition", an altered clip from "The Beginner's Bible" plays depicting Noah having constructed the Ark, only to be caught by Gabriel, who is ''not'' pleased that Noah ignored his order not to build it. To this end, he puts what is heavily implied to be the first Alternate onto the Ark, with Noah being inflicted with M.A.D. as a result. So ''why'' did Gabriel not want Noah to build the Ark? Simple really, if you remember why Noah built it in the first place. In the original version of events, YHWH tasked Noah with building the Ark and taking both his family and two of every animal onto it, so that they would survive a storm that drown the world for 40 Days and 40 Nights, this being known as "The Great Flood", YHWH having done so to effectively call for a do-over on the universe, and using the inhabitants of the Ark to repopulate. So, Gabriel not wanting Noah to build the Ark was likely so that there would be no ''survivors'' of the Great Flood. All of humanity and animal alike would be washed away in the world returning to primordial chaos, not only getting rid of humanity like he wanted, but also weakening the forces of YHWH.

Remember, one of the bigger lines associated with Gabriel is "I have fooled the shepherd.", with many believing the "Shepherd" refers to Jesus Christ. Except Gabriel first said this ''before'' Jesus was even born, while speaking to a sleeping Joseph, so it's more likely "The Shepherd" refers to YHWH, fitting with the idea that another name for Jesus Christ is "The ''Lamb'' of God". This would fit with the fact that, in the Bible, it was YHWH who told Noah to build the Ark. And Gabriel specifically said he ''fooled'' "The Shepherd", meaning he ''tricked'' God rather than overpowered him. This would fit with the hierarchy of the Angels, as while Gabriel ''is'' a high ranking Angel, he's not the highest, ''Michael'' is, and Michael is considered the equivalent of the General of Heaven. So "Gabriel" can't simply overpower Heaven, as not only would Michael stop him, but his last attempt at that as Lucifer showed how that would go. So, he instead tries the ''subterfuge'' option. By tricking YHWH into believing he really ''is'' Gabriel, he is working right beneath YHWH's nose and manipulating events for his plans, trying to give YHWH a reason to cleanse the Earth again, all the while slowly weakening YHWH by turning those of faith against him. Now, remember that the Intruder, who is confirmed to work for Gabriel, has been kidnapping thousands of children after tricking them into creating Tulpa Alternates, which, if Lynn Murray is any indication, drive the parents of the children to kill themselves via M.A.D. However, we never get any clue as to what ''happened'' to these kids, just that some of them, like Adam Murray, had Alternate {{sleeper agent}}s left in their place, as The Intruder says "Do not make me wake the ''others''". With what The Preacher said though, it makes sense as to ''why'' The Intruder is kidnapping kids. This process is potentially very time-consuming, [[PainfulTransformation painful]], or even leave the Alternate vulnerable in ways they would not be otherwise. So most Type 3s opt to just give up on impersonation and just use their bungled disguises to instill terror. N's disguise was so imcomplete that he was probably able to shed it without too much trouble, but opted to just stay in his true form rather than take on another and potentially screw up again.

Type 4 Alternates are ultimately the same "species" as normal Alternates. But rather than taking on a form based on a human being, they have their corporeal forms manifested by children. This results in a much more powerful "disguise" than any form an Alternate could take on its own. It's possible the Tulpa forms can also be shapeshifted on a dime (if Thatacher's follower indeed took Thatcher's form after attacking him), as opposed to a normal Alternate which is either stuck in its current disguise or has to go through some sort of painful moulting in order to re-shapeshift.
