** Maybe instead of Bunyan actually coming to life, what if Richie is just going to his car when the axe of the statue drops right onto the car and Richie quickly jumps out of the way. We wouldn't actually see Pennywise in this scene, but we would know that something sinister is happening.

**Maybe he gets chased by the corpses of [[spoiler: Henry and his gang]]

The Losers' memories will be a Flashback Twist with the original cast.

[[WMG: The Losers' memories will be a FlashbackTwist with the original cast.]]
AndrésMuschietti has mentioned getting the original cast together for flashbacks. We will see flashbacks to Chapter One, only how the Adults (except Mike) remember things at first, RashomonStyle. Henry Bowers will replace Pennywise as the BigBad in the flashbacks. Eddie thinks Bowers was the one who broke his arm, Bev thinks Bowers kidnapped her, the Losers remember Bowers trying to kill them in the sewers under Derry; not the evil shapeshifting clown.

We all know that if there's one thing [[VillianousBreakdown Pennywise can't stand]], it's being mocked and [[NightmareRetardant having his scariness diluted.]] The memes involving the use of amusing tunes to soundtrack his dances are a big example of this, and have made him a [[NarmCharm laughing stock for certain parts of the audience.]] [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou Will Pennywise]] (and the writers) let that slide for the sequel? I think NOT! They will find a way to exploit the MemeticMutation so as to create a new dancing scene but give Pennywise his edge back. Such as dancing to a song which is so scary and in such a way that it can't be memed very easily. Or if that's impossible (after all it's easy to lay a song on top of any given scene), ''deliberately invoking Narm'' to crack up the Losers and the audience, lowering their guard before [[spoiler: he murders Eddie]], creating a massive MoodWhiplash which can't straightforwardly be memed by the internet because it reinforces the horror and creates a GutPunch.

The writers would be remiss not to make use of something that happened so close to their film's release. Their presence could be used as {{Foreshadowing}} to raise the stakes. Upgrading a more personal fight with an EldritchAbomination into a fight to stop TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt. It would also give a subtle air of TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou.

[[WMG: IT Chapter II will start with a short history of Pennywise's last three appearances]]
According to the director, Chapter II will start in with the Black Spot. After showing what happened, it will skip forward 27 years to 1988/89, showing some of the things that happened during Chapter I, namely Stan getting attacked. Then it will skip forward to 2016, showing the older Losers club reacting to the news that IT has returned similar to the framing device from the 1990 version, culminating in Stan's suicide and writing "IT" on the wall in blood, which will form the title screen in the same way the letters appeared coming out of the sewer entrance in Chapter I.

[[WMG: The different forms from the book we'll see in Chapter 2]]
* Ben: The vampire with razors blades instead of teeth in the library could be suitable for chapter 2, but maybe he gets replaced by an undead Stan (including razors).
* Richie: The giant Paul Bunyan statue coming to life might be creepier if the statue just turned into a giant Pennywise stomping/chasing after Richie with a giant axe.
* Beverly: Ms Kersh will probably be in Chapter 2. It worked pretty well in the series, but I don't think the house will turn into gingerbread etc. The tea in the cup also wasn't blood in the book, but shit).
* Eddie: gets chased by undead classmates and bullies in the book (who are linked with a memory where they're playing baseball together). I don't think this will happen in Chapter 2 because we haven't seen the characters play any baseball in Chapter 1 and not much time was spent on the classmates. Maybe we get to see some flashbacks, or perhaps the Leper might return again. Maybe his mother will appear!
* Mike: Sees balloons coming out of the fridge and also sees the head of a young Stan Uris (it was adult Stan Uris in the series). I hope it'll be a young Stan, for that would be creepier and scarier in my opinion.
** He also gets attacked by Henry Bowers. If Henry's still alive, this part of the book will be unchanged.
** Mike also gets attacked by a possessed man in the hospital with a syringe. A short scene that might happen in Chapter 2.
* Bill: doesn't meet Pennywise in any form when he wanders around in Derry. He does meet a harmless, young boy and finds Silver, his old bicycle, in a second-hand shop. (Something spooky might happen there, but that wouldn't be faithful to the book...).

* Depends on how you view things: The movie explicitly states that IT is powered by the fear of its victims, so the kids defeat IT by overcoming their fears. Also, given how Part 1 ends (Bev leaving Derry), the speculation about the kids growing to be professional monster hunters in Part 2 is unlikely, with the exception of Mike, who, according to the director, will become obsessed with learning all about IT in the 27 years that pass between movies.
