This ChekhovsGun has been waiting to fire for far too long. And we all know that [[{{Juggalo}} Juggalos]] and magnets don't mix.

She is the daughter of the {{Mad Scientist}}s who created the appearifier, among other weird machines we've yet to see. In one unfortunate test run, Mr. Lalonde was [[BalefulPolymorph accidentally transformed into a cat]] and they were unable to reverse the change. If Jaspers used to be a person, that explains why he is an apparently talking cat who wears tuxedos.

Their experiments were secret/probably illegal, and having a cat as a dad is just plain weird, so Jaspers became the "family pet." Miz Lalonde went overboard when he turned up dead because, well, he used to be her ''husband''--she is understandably upset. Her drinking problem today is a result of all the stress that has built up over the years over not being able to tell Rose (or anyone) the truth; her grief explains the "absurd funeral service," the mausoleum, why the mausoleum is built over the entrance to the lab and why Miz Lalonde is trying to clone him. Incidentally, she must know that she can't actually resurrect him because the clones start off as embyros, so she is probably trying to make some sort of living memento. [[note]]The memento is his cat form for five possible reasons. One, it's just creepy to make a carbon copy of your husband and then presumably raise him as your son. Two, she might subscribe to the mindset that dictates human cloning is unethical but cloning animals is okay. Three, the cloning technology isn't reliable, and to see horribly mutated versions of what her husband looked like as a fetus is horrifying (nevermind that she's probably had to put failed copies out of their misery on multiple occasions). Four, should the cloning ever succeed, the clone ISN'T Mr. Lalonde even if he's got the same face, which is just heartbreaking, so the cat form would be more bearable. Five, [[UglyCute mutant kittens]] are cuter than [[UncannyValley mutant human babies]].[[/note]]
